and CJB to add to your last point what's wrong with "your" or my tax maintaining cycle specific road furniture? As I see it the more cycle friendly the roads are the more people are going to turn to bikes to get to work and the easier motorists are going to be able to get though traffic. My personal...

Granted, but as someone has already said the majority of the budget for roads comes from council tax, not the road tax. We all pay council tax, so why should cyclists be taxed, and why even bother getting hot under the collar about it as we know it would never happen. It seems to me like half the ca...

I'm a cyclist and a 40,000+ miles a year driver so I can really see the benifits of both. Motorists should really see that the majority of cyclists are doing them a favor. The more bikes on the road the less cars on the road. The government tries to a small extent to encourage cycling in cities to t...

There needs to be another option, start tailgaiting 1mm from the bumper of the car in front! Seriously though, it takes an extreme case to make me under take. I has a friend prosicuted under just the circumstances you have described. Empty road, one car in lane 2. He waited and waited and then under...

When driving home round the M25 late last night I was again annoyed to see one of the large information signs displaying the message "Think, Don't Phone While Driving", does everyone think a much better message would be to display"Only use the outside lane for overtaking" or something similar? I thi...

It's an easy one to answer, they are obsessed with speeding because it's so easy to catch people doing it. Most other offences require catching the offender with an actual Police Officer and possibly a court case, and that would never do now would it?!

add to that Cyclists, Pedestrians and anyone who doesn't drive ;-) Cyclists can drive too you know! I love cycling and I do 40,000miles a year in the car too! On the speed camera thing though, it's just another case of the government listening to the minority groups and totally ingnoring the vast m...

Yep, I don't think we use that type of equipment in the UK DrNomad. Our devices are radar, laser or buried induction loop based normally. 8)
