Well this is a bit of an old thread, but I figure since it's been bumped I may as well update. As the other driver was eventually found, no thanks to Gwent Police, she got to keep her NCB, however we got screwed over on the valuation as that was paid out by my GF's insurance company initially and wa... |

This is a 4 year old thread. I have since moved to a much nicer part of the country and had no further problems with the Subaru, though I did eventually get rid of it for an AWD performance car from Nissan instead.
So in conclusion, don't buy that taser, and don't live in Aylesbury, it is a shithole. |

At least with Windows 7 the changes are a logical improvement over the old OS, and there are ways to bring back the behaviour of earlier OSes if you really want to. Plus the effect of the changes are it may take you a bit longer to start up Word or whatever, it's certainly not putting any lives in d... |

Yes, my BMW has these indicators and I don't like them very much for the reason that Lum says about manually cancelling them. However, I can offer one word of advice. Us long term drivers will try to turn off the indicators by pushing the stalk in the opposite direction to that being indicated (as ... |

You can eventually get used to the smart indicators, but I still don't like them and don't see what benefit they offer. For those who haven't seen them, they have two switches for each direction, a half push and a full push and they don't latch. A half push gives you 3 flashes and a full push turns ... |

She pled guilty
Probably could have avoided prosecution altogether if prepared to fight it, but with having already lost your job and the risk of a death by dangerous driving charge on the horizon it was the cheaper and lower risk option.
A bit like fighting a speeding ticket, in a way. |

Wait, so leaving aside the barriers and venetian sign relating to them (after all it's reasonable to assume that if they are open and the sign is blanked, it's ok to go through). You are saying that that little tiny plate creates a valid no right turn restriction and there is no need for the more we... |

Well apparently there are also barriers across the road that are supposed to close it at certain times. He is assuming that the sign should operate with the barriers, which wern't in operation.

Well he claims not to have seen the sign, as he was turning right onto Renwick Road, then immediately turning right again, part of an awesome new "rat run" he'd found to avoid a busy part of the A13, and thus not noticed it because it was so small. I was under the impression that that litt... |

My submission. The guy with the bald spot is the owner of that car who used to complain if I parked my manky old Passat too close to his house as he said it devauled it. http://www.lum.co.uk/DiscoPaul.jpg Note the car parked on the other side of the road opposite and the fact that the road is barely... |

Also for those with turbocharged cars, there are circumstances where you need to leave the engine running for a bit to keep oil flowing to the turbo to cool it down to a sufficient temperature otherwise you'll do damage Turbo timer  Legally dubious Would be amusing when the jobsworth tells... |

If you're on Vista or Win7 the provided backup utility is actually pretty good. Mine automatically backs up to my NAS every sunday at 7pm, only copies over the changes to save space/time. It works just fine.
For XP I'd just use the free Robocopy utility and set it to zero retries upon failure. |

I'm sorry Lum, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but the links within your two links don't take me to an actual story. They should be just links directly to the story.
