Thanks everyone for the input. Right! The state of play now is that I did a factory-like restore and created the restore disc which was three DVDs worth. There is nothing added software wise and it still insists on crashing, so in view of the fact it is less than a month old do I have to accept a re...

Offended? Nah! I just see it as a bit of a hindrance every couple of years. But this year I have managed to blag a few days off work as a result so there is always a silver lining. I do have a relation though whose house is flooded to a height of around shoulder level and she is seriously dischuffed. |

I bought a friend a new laptop three weeks ago, a new Packard Bell EasyNoteTJ65 with Windows 7 installed and to cut a long story short it keeps on powering off in an instant and blue screening while moaning about some kind of installed software issue. Anyway in view of it being a little over three w...

How much was it? Hiya Ernest I think it should have cost around £80 from Asda but my sister- in- law who works for Asda used her discount and got it cheaper. A few relatives pitched in for a birthday present for me and will do the same for a copy of Windows 7 for Christmas (£50 at the moment). Beat...

Morning all. I have recently bought myself a Lacie 750gb external hard drive but I'm struggling already! I run Vista (I know) on a Acer laptop and when I plugged it in all was well in that I saw in the drive properties that the hard drive has 750gig ready to go. So I attempted to clone my laptop har...

Lately I seem to be receiving endless letters from my bank to credit card company to my isp regarding them changing the terms of our contract. For example my isp recently wrote to say they were introducing a limit of 40gig per month to my service which was apparently unlimited (I am aware of the fai...

I am sorting (trying to!) my friend's PC out but am struggling to pass my first hurdle. :x The keyboard is playing up in that at first I thought it wasn't connecting as I couldn't get characters to appear but have discovered that if I hold a key down it will appear but only after around two seconds ...
