[ i my years of driving i have noticed more and more people ignoring red lights. That would be cyclists, then? They are the only people who ignore red lights. ?? as the lights turn red from amber, people (in cars) frequently go though them. I am not talking about people driving though as it changes...

They have done the same thing going into Birmingham. A once :40: is now :30: on a dual carriageway and there isn’t one single driver including traffic police that I’ve followed, on two occasions to date, who respects it. This is happening a lot in Birmingham, for example the A38 after the Aston exp...

What interests me about this, when they talk about the success of these schemes they talk about, income generated from fines. Which they want to increase,...

Tamworth is always cheaper. If you are near Tamworth, always fill up at ASDA (just off the A5), cos it always cheaper :D .
I very rarely buy fuel from anywhere else, unless I can't avoid it.

I love the way people use physics, or any science discipline in their arguments to belittle others. Well done you understand what momentum is. However road safety is a lot more complicated than simple velocity X mass. I am not going to even pretend I understand it all (I only have a degree in chemis...

I don't think a 75mph limit goes far enough- people can still break the law. Why stop with vans?!!!!!! All motor vehicles should be limited to 69.99999 mph. I think it is a wonderful idea! Trucks never crash and they are limited, the motorway follows so freely and easily around the trucks when they ...

Once you accept the less than obvious fact that observing lower speed limits can improve traffic throughputs then it is obvious. Of course, ignorant bastards like GoM won't accept any fact which contradicts their decades old predjudices. :( That's all very well but DOES IT WORK IN PRACTICE? it's al...

Why I hate the precautionary principle Here is the definition from the edexcel 360 Science text book Precautionary principle: Another way of “playing safe”. With global warming it means that it is safer to reduce the amount of fossil fuels we burn, even if we can’t prove that this is the cause of th...

Sarah Temlett, for Kent and Medway Safety Camera Partnership, said: “Driving just a few miles above that speed limit can mean the difference between life and death – 85 per cent of people hit by vehicles at 40mph die, compared to 20 per cent at 30mph.” You have probably heard this from me before; o...

I am really getting sick of this schools indoctrinating shite. I like this line but because motorists were already driving at speeds greater than the original limit the effect has been simply to bring drivers within the law, rather than worsen highway safety. Or indeed to improve it. Well we don't know that, nor did I say that. However, I was just highlighting...
