I would like to challenge cunobelin Do you actually drive a car? If you do can you swear on your mothers life you have NEVER broken a speed limit never gone at say 33/34 in a 30 for example. If you are such a theoretically perfect driver then you must have a constant queue of frustrated motorists be...

I was driving the other day on the main A657 road to Leeds. Just before the main speed camera stretch started I was amazed as every single car except mine indicated to turn right (amazing as this used to be a busy major road.) I continued on and on this formerly very busy road there was barely a car...

Actually you do have something to fear if you stick to the speed limit. Rigidly sticking to the speed limit means you are more likely to be pulled for suspected drug or drink driving. You can't win either way. Stick to the speed limit you also have a line of frustrated motorists behind you. But brea...

Im afraid the "powers that be" cant have it both ways. On one hand an effective zero tolerance speeding regime is operating in many counties. On the other we are "expected" to ignore 20 mph limits. 10%+2 in a 20 is only 24 mph very difficult to stay below. You either return to the old method of comm...

I personally like to leave myself a significant margin of error when passing a speed camera. You never know what margin of leeway you will be given. ie for some cameras you will be ticketed at 35 in a 30 others it will be significantly higher. Because of this passing a camera in a 30 limit zone at m...

Well that was me in the red car. As I had had another speeding ticket the prior month (38 in a 30) with before that a 77 in a 50 on a motorway I was driving extremely carefully through any areas I am not completely familiar with. In Ambleside the limit was down to 20mph and then 30mph on the side of...
