We had a COLD war for years because this is NOT the way we wanted to live our lives! Hmmm, I think you're taking it a bit far aren't you? What makes me laugh in situations like this is that you automatically assume that the police (or to use Orwellian language, "the State"!) actually care what you ...

We are now being sold this on the basis that it represents a huge improvement for road safety My understanding is it's hardly anything to do with road safety, rather it's to do with tracking and catching criminals around the country. I'm quite happy that police are doing more drug dealers, organise...

I've seen this before, it doesn't work for the following reasons: - There is a caveat in the data protection act saying that the police are not obliged to give any information if they have been collecting information for the detection of crime - The act also says that if they have reason to believe ...

It's a funny one in that again you say there are people out there who lack basic skills in driving, yet a common argument in the posts on this site is that no-one admits to being one of those! As I said in another post, surely speed management has got to play a role in generally slowing the traffic ...

We have a bit of a problem in the UK. We basically have the one of the easiest ways to get a license in developed countries. Now, all the talk about what causes accidents, surely the most effective thing we can do is to tackle both speed and driver capability at the same time (I know this site goes ...

Forgot that bit. All partnerships get approval for is the the ones that do meet criteria - the ones that don't are done on trust and an agreement it won't be abused. I understand that when the DfT made the announcement on it being satisfied that sites meet criteria it didn't include these other ones...

I've seen the handbook and spoken to colleagues on the 15% rule. It looks like a get out clause for cameras that don't meet criteria. As I understand it, the partnerships can justify 15% enforcement time at sites that don't meet the stated criteria. This is of course a joke as partnerships have no w...

Likely there was either another policeman in the car that stopped you or a video camera and radar. Police are unlikely to prosecute on single person testimony and I find it extremely unlikely you would have been stopped by a single policeman (it's getting more dangerous for them too). Bear in mind y...

I've been involved with these before. You have to be careful with what people are saying on this. Basically if you ask someone "Do you like speed cameras" then most people say no. However, they're getting around this by asking questions like "do you believe speed cameras save lives" or "do you belie...

Police usually work on +30mph over speed limit is straight to court. If you've already returned your form stating it was you driving then you'd get slaughtered in court if you try to contest. Suggest you take your £60 and 3 points and count yourself lucky you were 1mph shy of the court trigger...
