IIRC some learners can drive solo, in vehicles designed to only carry one person, i.e tractors, dump trucks etc. The OP has tried to be almost legal ie tax, MOT, ins (though probably invalid). So lets not be TOO hard on him. He seems to be on the foolish end of criminal rather than downright reckles...

I seem to be involved in a non-fault accident every 2 years or so.(still have 9 yrs no-claims). I use a local solicitor, and it's never cost me a penny, I take it your ins co. would have instructed Helphire, if you had not contacted them directly, so they are willing to pay for your legal representa...

"Totally Indefensible" This case is a done deal, but many (maybe most) roadworks I have seen have signing errors which woud be a defence to the charge of excess speed. I recently took trip to Scotland up the M6-A74-M74, the roadworks near the border had some non-compliant speed signs, and ...

I agree that in heavy enough traffic, the Prius would clearly be better than the Beamer - as would a moped. So what's your point? If you pick a specific enough set of conditions, you'd probably find an old V12 Jag was better than a Prius! A V12 Jag's excess power and torque if harnessed could proba...

I have seen one of these areas, the signs are not TSRGD compliant it appears to be some kind of informal 'educational' set up, I have contacted the council and will ask about planning permission for the signs, and Sectretary of States exemption for these signs to be placed on the Highway, I missed a...

We're all still thinking of you and your loss,
and of Paul and our loss.

I don't know if you have any belief, but I (as a very lapsed catholic) often think of / pray for you both.

There are no words, I can comfort you with, so I won't try.

Thinking of you

Thinking of the current Clarkson for PM stories, at least he'd knowingly give our information away and not just lose it.

I have occasionally thought of setting up 5 Ltd companies, with the intention of leasing A car down the chain, so when Ltd Co. number 5 recieves a 172 (after the other 4 Co.s have taken 28 days to respond) the offence would time out and the response to the 172 could be made without fear of prosecuti...

[TiC] Well with all this money we motorists are saving, we'll be able to driver bigger thirstier cars to feed our addiction to internal combustion. That just leaves me the decision on the next old Jag for me get. 1) XJR 2) V12 :? So if motoring is getting cheaper, cyclists and PT users will soon be ...

Are you seriously suggesting that the cost of motoring has spiked by an additional 20-25% since 2005? The price of fuel is lower now - in real terms - than it was in 1983, 97.4% of the 1983 price. It beggars belief that motorists can find anything here to whinge about. When you gripe about being be...

Thus, if they erode their safety margins to the extent that they will be unable to avoid a crash if something happens, then they are relying on that something NOT happening. Even though such events may be rare, relying on it not happening is relying on 'luck', or whatever term you wish to use to de...

I would suggest that the 'lucky' are actually better risk assessors and mitigators, This applies to just about all areas, construction operations not killing operatives, to the professional gambler making a living, and to the 'advanced' driver not causing and being able to avoid other peoples accide...
