Here is something to consider. The killing potential of a vehicle is related to it's mass x speed (momentum or killing units). Lets say for argument that a car weights 1 tonne and a lorry 20 tonne at 50mph the car has 50 killing units and the lorry 1000 killing units. it is therefore very hard for t...

Always the same. "Limit the speed of cars to 70" Does this stop you doing 70 mph in a built up area? Nope. I don't find speeds under the 70 limit a problem, only a psychopath speeds in towns. My only concern is clear A roads or motorways where the safe speed is far in excess of 70 and to drive at 7...

Did anyone else notice that when they put in the camera van bays on the hill going into Barrow town after the Strawberry lights that they also removed the 30 limit signs, including burning off the large painted signs on the road. How strange? Unless revenue not safety was the prime consideration

Why do we speed? It's obvious. Ignoring the younger driver or those impaired through drink or drugs, people speed, to get there faster. We have a finite life-span and an awful lot of stuff to cram into those 70 odd years. Time spent getting home to our children is wasted time. Time spent in our cars...

I think that some people have mistaken my views as advocating speed limiters. Nothing could be further than the truth, but I just can't understand why so much effort is being put into persecuting those who break the national speed limit, whilst allowing us to buy cars that will so readily exceed it ...

Now don't get me wrong, I belive that speed in the right place and at the right time is a good thing and that motorways should have no maximim limit, but aren't the government being hypocritical? They say that the maximum speed anywhere in the UK will not exceed 70mph, but they allow cars that excee...

I have seen this a few times, where a car has been flashed when going nowhere near the limit, so it will be intersting to see what happenes.
Another thing that i have spotted is that those boards that flash your speed up can be quite far out (compared to my speedo) |
