Thanks, but I haven't been caught by any cameras... just noticed the discrepancy whilst looking something up for someone else.

I wondered if, since the ICO judgement in 2007 there had been a further case that had a contradictory outcome.

Just confused about the state of play really - if the Home Office have been told by the ICO that they have to release the details, why does their site tell you that they won't?

But yeah, if you've got the manual for a Gatsometer Type 24 + AUS lying around I'd love to read it.

I noticed that the HOSDB website carries the following disclaimer regarding FOI requests for Type Approval and Manufacturers documentation: Freedom of Information and Type Approval The Home Office aims to ensure that the Type Approval process is open and transparent. All the above information is pub...

No the police don't need to use warning lights on certain occasions, but other Emergency vehicles do at all times... ambulance drivers will get a ticket if the camera that catches them cannot see that blue lights are in use, for example. Police have certain other immunities, like when a vehicle that...

A friend of mine did have his pedal weld itself to the rubber matting under his feet once and was forced to plough into a herd of emu at over 120 mph. But that was in 100+ degree heat in the middle of Australia's Outback, not the A1! I wonder if this chap just had a burning desire to ride a roller-c...

Emergency vehicles do have immunity for speeding, only when their blue lights are being used though. Also the immunity does not extend to standards of driving, so if an officer was driving at 100 mph in a 30 zone in a controlled manner is cool, but 31 mph in the same place in a dangerous manner is N...

The sites are chosen because of a combination of PIC (personal injury Collisions) and KSI's. That means that if someone has had a collision which resulted in even a slight bruise or cut, if it was then reported to the police within 30 days it would count towards the siting of the camera. The baselin...

Hi - :?: On Monday I was pulled for speeding. The Officer (who was on his own) had a hand held detector and claimed I was clocked at 53 mph in a 40 zone. I had entered the zone at 40 and hadn't sped up much between the signs and the place where the copper was hiding (about 100 feet up the road from ...
