The money from fines and fixed penalties goes to the treasury. The Partnerships get Road Safety grants to operate the cameras - I have had this confirmed by Freedom of Information requests. The police keep any profit from money that is given to them by the course providers; in North Wales that is AA...

I think that the £2million may be an underestimate. An FOI to North Wales Police (2010/311) shows that in 2009/10 almost 33,000 courses at £60 each were offered just to drivers exceeding the 30mph limit, so that is £2million income from one police force and there are about 38 forces offering these c...
