Have we got someone else winging about bikers trikling through traffic jams. If traffic is stopped - so what - if you could fit wheels to the side of your car and slide sideways through a jam to keep moving - would you do it?? Just goes to show how you only read what you want to doesn't it (like mo...

Jamie, there's no need for tears, either come up with a valid point in response to my post or don't... If you can't think of anything I'd appreciate you not resorting to needlessly picking on my spelling on a Friday afternoon. Does one person's "throw-away" comment prove that my judgement of distanc...

The old lady is your mum and I'm a base-ball cap wearing chav Surely you'd be wearing a helmet :? I'm flipping the argument and applying "biker logic" (what it's acceptable for a biker to do) to two cars, so being in a car I'd be able to wear whatever headgear suited (as long as it didn't impeed my...

Jamie, the Highway code is written so as to allow you to go faster than me if it is safe to do so hence the point of this site - no? Nipping past me with about 1 inch between hitting me or cones at 60mph+ is, in my opinion not safe in any way hence my original argument. BTW if you need to be childis...

Nice response biggerjohn BUT it only compounds my view of bikers in general: Just because you CAN go faster than me in my little car doesn't mean that it's you RIGHT to do so. If I were to sit behind an old lady who was pootling along an inch from her bumper revving my engine cos I couldn't get past...

Ok, I take your point sixy. I do notice a couple of them week in week out and you're right there's nothing I can do about it but if stop worrying about it, I'll stop caring about it and therefore just become another cager - and you wouldn't want that now would you? |

I'm not worried about the position at stationary or near stationary traffic, motorways/dual carriageways coned off to single lanes or where there are two lanes with cones (effectively you're stuck in a lane with no scope for moving due to cones on either side) are where I find this happens. This mea...

So drive as you would if you being 'tailgated' by any other driver, slow and give yourself room to stop without haveing to slam on the brakes. This would mean i'd be driving at 10mph. Don't be ridiculous. How do you cope with cars that drive close behind you? This is the speed that you're so quick ...

Welcome to the forum though. Its nice to see someone has actually bothered to read the site before posting, unlike some... Having read through the thread (and as a car driver and motorcyclist) I'd agree with both sentiments! Let's leave it at that than........ |

I need my car for work and work rather it wasn't involved in an accident with a hellsgrandad or otherwise. Doesn't matter if it's not my fault, that's not much consolation really is it especially if the rider is hurt - even as a result of their own stupidity. So drive as you would if you being 'tai...

2. By Offside rear quarter, I mean actually the front of your bike level with my rear tyre ... Does it matter if I think they're that close or instead sitting on my rear bumper... Either way they're too close to be safe enough to have time to react should I need to brake. Of course there is a diffe...

2. By Offside rear quarter, I mean actually the front of your bike level with my rear tyre ... If I have to move over I will hit the front of the biker who's decided to place themselves in such a ridiculous position. Granted there are bikers - clearly you are one - who do sit back in this position ...

I really don't understand why bikers can't be taught during their test to wait behind cars and just sit up - this would afford them a fantastic view of the road ahead over the roof of my car and also mean that they'd have enough room to manoeuvre should I need to stop suddenly or - heaven forefend ...

Doesn't the fact that I KNOW that the biker is in my blind spot tell you a lot about my level of observation, if you want to liken me to a "cager" then perhaps you would be good enough to tell me how your "i'm right cos i'm on my bike" attitude is any different? Regardless of what you might think bo...

In my time driving I've only ever encountered two types of biker; the "hells grandad" (they've fitted a loud pipe to make themselves feel "mean" on their hog and persist in driving at 40mph everywhere, sitting in the middle of the lane that they're in not allowing anyone to pass); and the "i want to...
