| I drive this road every day, aveage speed over that section in rush hour is about 35ph. As usual, off peak drivers, when little traffic around will pay the price. The road is too busy, too many trucks heading for the ports, very short slip roads, sun in the face on clear winters days. The police kno... |

| A friend of mine was caught by a Gatso, in Holland, in a rental Car about 5 years ago. He heard nothing from the Rental company. On his return to holland several months later, he was pulled to one side at passport control, and fined for the offence. Just make sure you have your card next time you vi... |

| I agree, fatigue is a killer, as a 40k mile driver, I get to feel it often, although can cure it with a 15 minute nap in a lay by (didnt set my alarm correctly one night though, and slept for 2 hours......explain that on to the other half!) In the last few days with cold, clear conditions, lots of r... |

| This raises an important question with regard to general compliance with the speed limits vs. revenue recieved. Compliance to the speed limits must be increasing , self preservation for those of us who drive for a living on unfamiliar routes being one key factor. Assuming the RATE of new camera inst... |

Does anyone know if the fine / points structure applies the same above all limits, eg 70 limit, 70-79, 80-85, 85 and above?

There are those of us who lose our job if we lose our licence. I would.
How can this guy perform his duties with no licence. Local PC's picking him up, driving him around? Tax payer picking up the bill? |

I have just been talking rubbish, the truvelo would have to flash every vehicle at the lower limt for my theory to work, It would have to differentiate the size of the vehicle BEFORE flashing, and that is not possible without some extra sensors.
sorry |

| What kind of camera was it? I dont see how a gatso can possibly determine the length of a vehicle without doing some fancy radar signature stuff, although I have seen a website that claims this to be true (gatso's site does not claim this as a feature, neither does truvelo). A truvello on the other ... |

Their concentration yes, but not the instruments.
A strong radio transmitter could possiblyt affect them, but the radio in a car of course is a receiver. all that is emitted is sound waves. |

| The A14 (use it most days from A1 to M11) does get a lot of poor weather conditions. This time of year, it is a nightmare in the morning on a clear day, with the sun right in your face when heading east. It gets a lot of fog also. These conditions coupled with the sheer weight of traffic are the iss... |

| If you didnt get a conditional offer, then it goes to court. Normally when close to 30 over, its more than 3 points and a bigger fine. For me and people I know, it has been 4 points and 160 -200 pound fine plus costs, but that depends on the magistrates. Costs are less if you plead guilty by post. O... |

| I drive the entire cambs a14 most days also. In rush hour, there is no speeding because of the weight of traffic.
