Perhaps they are thinking of the atmosphere as 2D (ie a drawing) rather than 3D. I hope that makes sense. Yes that's what i thought. But even then a 5 year old could see that it's not 50% that head straight back down. I think that if then particle starts heading down then might it not then hit anot...

(b) Various gases in the atmosphere (Carbon Dioxide, Water, and Methane) absorb this infrared, which was travelling up wards, and re-emit it in a random direction half of which will be back down wards. Oh dear. HALF?? If it is "re-emit[ed] it in a random direction" why would HALF of it he...

What twaddle. If anything it would improve the congestion around the area as vehicles will not be constantly stopping. This would also benefit the A2 and associated roads through Dartford - closing the bridge brings Dartford to a standstill. Sorry forgot to point out that was quoted from Wikipedia ...

Dartford Crossing has a toll BOTH ways. They are on the same side of the river so going anti clockwise you pay before the tunnel and clockwise you pay after the bridge. Apparently the toll payable for using the bridge was supposed to end once the bridge had been paid for - which happened in 2003 - b...

The road had a 60mph limit and they had long feared that something like this would happen

So why have cats or move there then?

Do cats not die when hit at 40mph?

Even with them, How are un-MOTd cars to be prepared by a garage to take an MOT? How is a non DIY owner to have (say) a previously SORNED vehicle prepared for being put back on the road! if he is liable for the garrages use of the vehicle? A vehicle which has no MOT or has failed an MOT can be drive...

This is totally ridiculous, as the people in the house should be responsible for their own remarks; the producers themselves haven't said anything racist. He may have been referring to the fact that the producers are responsible for the output of the program and after the first series a 15 minutes ...

even if the UK cut all its green-house immissions to zero, within 2 years China would have made up for the reduction. A few weeks ago they countered this with the argument that whilst "Green Taxes" won't achieve anything the UK MUST lead by example. Presumably an example that other countr...

Makes me remember "Brass Eye" and DJ Dr Fox insisting that "paedophiles have more genes in common with crabs than they do with you or me. Now that is scientific fact. There's no actual evidence for it, but it is a fact."

You could then buy some stickers and place them over the MPH numbers (eg. 80 over the 50) and all will be well. Exactly. I learnt to drive in a MPH car, i learnt to ride on a MPH motorcycle but my first "proper" bike was a Japanese "grey import" FZR 400 RR with KPH clocks. A few...

Besides i can't see they'll make motorways 70 KPH - they'll become 110 KPH or wahtever the 70 MPH equivalent works out at so you'll still be travelling at the same speeds on the roads.

Also are there any solid plans in place to change to KPH?

I know what 30 or 40 MPH feels like as for KMH no chance! So how did you know what 30 or 40 MPH felt like when you started driving? You learnt and you'll learn KPH. Most speedometers show KPH as well as MPH anyway. if ever the Limits go Metric I will be shafted and not my Fault! It won't happen ove...

When i did my driving and motorcycle licenses i was always told that the speed change occurs AT the lollipop signs. One road used locally is a 30 mph and then changes to 40 mph. Going up if you accelerated BEFORE the lollipops our instructors would give you a mouthful when you got back. Coming down ...

Suspicion of a crime?

So how do you propose we identify different vehicles instead of license plates?
