This is nothing new, gastos can be fooled by vibrations in large flat panels, e.g. the rear of a delivery van. Wasn't there a similar case a few years back involving a caravan? The ticket isn't supposed to go out until someone has checked both photos, it's just sloppy work from the camera partnershi...

Cycling along a 3 lane dual carriageway I'm often annoyed by the prats who can't be bothered to use one of the empty two lanes and insist on passing me with four inch to spare but a one size rule does not fit all. If traffic is slow and crowded then giving less room is acceptable. Besides who's goin...

Apart from the fact that as a cyclist I hate painted on cycle lanes because they encourage motorists to pass too close I don't see the problem.

It's pretty standard for minor roads in (for instance) The Netherlands, and they seem to cope.

Clearly the parking attendant or whatever they are called pushed the wrong button. That's all.

Yes cycling two abreast, when going up a hill, just after a blind bend, is very sensible.....NOT! It is when it stops numpties from trying to squeeze past an inch from your handlebars. If it is safe to overtake a cyclist then there is room for two abreast, if there isn't room for two abreast then t...

I'm not sure what you are getting at. The alternative would have been for everyone with those entitlements and making use of them to have to go and take whatever test was required at the time regardless of how much experience they had. Or some other time and money consuming application process. Imag...

Is this hydraulic barrier one of those rising bollards?

From past discussions there is very good reason why they would not be using it. i.e. What happens when a tailgating car gets caught on one of those.

I appreciate that a presenter admitting on air to have been got at 34 when you say 35 is minimum and she had no reason to lie, No reason apart from the simple one. It sounds less bad to say you got caught at 34 than 40. Especially if you are going to say that on air. Changing your story doesn't loo...

And how many cars not involved in collisions have the wrong pressures? I'll bet it's pretty much the same figure.

It's just a nonsense statistic.

They have 14 days to post it. Most send them out a lot quicker than that.

Surely the insurance company will cover it.

That's how it's worked when I've had a car written off and the police arranged for it to be recovered and stored at an exorbitant rate. Though this was a few decades ago.

Sorry, I'm having trouble seeing how a few badly worn and faded road markings distracted you from the dirty great dayglo backed speed limit signs. Not that it matters, arguing over some marks on the road (official or otherwise) isn't going to get you anywhere. I looked the location up on google maps...

The cameras in the managed section of the M62 have been flashing when the limit has not been reduced. The result, a dangerous game of approach a gantry, check speed, check to see if gantry has speed cameras (can be tricky), adjust speed if it has, pass gantry, briefly drive as normal, repeat for the...

I think the 40 for trucks on a s/c road is right. But until the advent of automated enforcement which could differentiate between different classes of vehicle it wasn't really enforced. And before limiters it was commonplace to have trucks travelling at car speeds without widespread carnage. Limite...

Of course, if you ever have an out-of-control truck heading towards you, straight through the armco centre barrier, and the other carriageway armco and into a ditch, you may well consider that the limit on speed they can do is correct. Why, because if it hits it will hurt so much less than it would...

Nobody round here follows any lines anywhere, if it can be driven across without danger of losing suspension components then it's ignored, so I don't see it working.

I have driven my UK spec RHD car on the continent with no such issues. I don't see any problem driving a LHD car here. Overtaking, it sounds like you get far closer than I would even in a RHD car, lay well back and you can see past both sides depending on the curve of the road and on a straight road...

- There is clearly an understanding about who gives way to whom but, as a visitor, I found this inconsistent. Cars and vans give way to cyclists but cyclists expect pedestrians to get out of their way. This seems illogical. You need a local with you (I'm not but I visit friends there often). Cyclis...
