I personally can't see that the motorcyclist did much wrong. He was in the centre of the road, and had good vision, having chosen an off road style bike that is tall and gives good vision. This will have allowed him to see over your car (assuming it is a car you were driving as you don't mention it)...

Really enjoyed the racing, JT is showing he is a class act, given that he has an engine from last year. Rossi was back on form and Pedrosa only kept ahead by pushing that Honda to the limit - saw a lot of left foot waving as he was going round a few of the tighter corners! The 250 race was a bit tra...

Hi, First off, if you haven't already done so, make full notes of what happened. You will remember it all clealy now, but in 2 years time you will not! Using Word on your computer will date and time the file, so you can show it to be original. Secondly, make notes on your injuries, the Doctors you s...

RepiV Sorry to hear about your accident, and hope that you will soon be back on two wheels. The fact that you have posted this message is a good thing, it means that you are thinking about the reasons for the accident and looking for answers. As JT has pointed out, we should all learn from the mista...

I have a personal theory about a lot of the bike crashes that occur in rural areas, especially those put down to rider error. Anyone who rides our country roads will have noticed the large increase of white paint on them - cross hatchings that separate lines of traffic, complicated junction layouts,...

Dusty Like the use of hand signals, and the response you get just highlights the value of human interaction. One of the great shortfalls of modern driving is the lack of personal contact. No one wants to engage with any one else, they all get in their metal boxes and even lock the doors to keep the ...

I hope Dusty is keeping up with all the advice / suggestions being put forward :) As with all driving, and the fact that he has bothered to ask for help in the first place, I am sure he will take it all on board and adapt it as he sees fit. I would just like to say that having kept up with the threa...

Reading the original post from Paul regarding the NORTH YORKSHIRE POLICE ‘crackdown’ on dangerous drivers I was struck by the following quote from Inspector Chris Charlton: "They must all ride and drive within their capabilities, and they must do so with regard and respect for all other road-us...

I haven't posted for a while but thought I would add my tuppence worth here. I agree with the Grumpy Old Biker - a quick/progressive rider will make the overtake on the exit of the roundabout as a bike will accelerate far quicker than the van, and exits of roundabouts are a good opportunity to pass ...

Paul, Was this the interview shown of you talking about drivers avoiding speeding fines by getting their mates to admit to be the driver at the time of the offence? I was outraged that they were linking your interview to the news story about the man who used the excuse that someone else was driving ...

Just thought I would add a my two pence worth. Looking at the video on the North Wales site the reckless action was the using of the hard shoulder. What were they thinking - it is full of debris and not good for the tyres!!! More seriously, I did not see any car driver have to alter their course or ...

Thank you Patch for the informative post. It is important to have this sort of information to counter some of the mindless enforcement by individual officers. Remember, always keep your cool and be politle when stopped. It is encouraging to see that more research/publicity is being given to the acci...

Hi New member and this is my first post, so bear with me! As an advanced car and bike rider of numerous years I would say Kim's views are too common to be ignored by bikers. I ride every day in London. A lot of drivers are ignorant of the how a bike works and there is a lot of merit in making them d...
