First rule of the road in Britain:- KEEP LEFT, the mantra on which we rely.

I'm happy to believe it's a real enough problem. Soon, I think airborne pollution is going to overtake smoking in the list of health problems. London is regularly getting fined for breaches of EU air quality by the European Commission. I've had (brief) dealings with this lot and they're pretty swit...

It doesn't surprise me that weepej is sticking to his view, but I still think he's wrong. I am, however, surprised to see the somewhat dogmatic line, and slightly offensive tone, adopted by Oscar. Just because some research is claimed to have been done, there is no certainty that it correctly ident...

Well, weepej's been on my foes list for years, but this time I totally agree with him! Anyone who uses a phone, whether hands-free or not, whilst they are driving is an IDIOT! They must have an extremely high opinion of their capabilities, when tests have proved that it's worse than drink-driving. B...

I thought speedos were only supposed to be accurate at 25 or over? Something i read somewhere, making any lower speed unenforceable. :?

Got pulled in at a roadside check when I triggered a 'smilie' in a 30. Offered road safety bumf by a wpc and refused it, asking why the limit had gone from nsl to 40 then 30 inside a couple of years? Her reply was "How would you like cars speeding past your garden, sir?" The people who liv...

Tone, it's very hard to believe because of the media hype and over-exposure on TV, but I truly think that we who don't believe that foot-the-ball is the be-all and end-all are in the majority! :D

When I learned to drive in the 50s I was taught by my uncle, a bus driver. His best and most lasting advice was to pretend there were fresh eggs on the pedals and steering wheel. Passed my test first time, in heavy snow, in 1958. :drive1:

You can go through a red light if it's been red for an unreasonable length of time, such that you feel it's faulty.

Otherwise no-one would get anywhere!
