Also in Waverton in a layby round the bend a... |

I've lived in the area for the last 15 years. I've heard of at least 6 fatal RTCs in that time and dozens of serious RTCs. I can understand why the county highways are trying to make the road safer, however, I fear they're trying to crack a walnut with a sledgehammer. |

Can't help you with your query, my patch is the land that time forgot, we have no lighting, cameras or gantries. Just the old central wickets, the occasional overhead matrix and a few pictogram matrices. |

It feels totally contrary to use the hard shoulder if you have been driving for many years. Trucks don't move over into it. They sit in the usual lane. Also I'd worry about someone breaking down and not being able to reach a refuge. I just rather use another lane as it just feels so wrong to be on ... |

I am sure that you are totally correct about this. Do you co-operate with other Government agencies, for example, the partner organisations within the SCPs? I believe it's a silent partnership for the purposes of advertising the safety aspect. We have nothing to do with the running of the ca... |

News to me, the dozens of HATO patrol vehicles I've driven have never had cameras in. Our bosses are vehemently against getting them fitted!! |

The Highways Agency vehicle would not have been doing enforcement of any kind. We have no enforcement powers. |

I have seen less vans round Allerdale, they seem to spend a fair bit of time on the M6 in spots where are very little accidents!! |
