To your environment, and your driving.
You wouldn't know this though would you Smeg? Anything below 40 and you're asleep, according to you |

| I'd like to remind folks of this (issued December 2006): PR423: The dangerous 20mph zone mystery news: for immediate release Safe Speed has today criticised Department for Transport and the Scottish Executive for failing to consider figures that show 20mph speed limit zones have crashes which are, ... |

| Let's hope you've thought of a better response than earlier then. "It could be quite marked and it could be quite dangerous – we just don’t know.” is just nonsense and meaningless. you just don't know says it all. "If you get to the point where a speed limit feels unnatural, it affects a d... |

| If you want to restart your argument that speeding up is a safer way of overcoming severe fatigue than pulling over and having a rest then go ahead. A new thread would be considerate. |

| We won't get a substantive reply, because, on reflection, I realise that the sig is simply trolling. Trolling? Just because he has an opinion which doesn't match yours? That's not trolling. That's just someone with an informed but counter opinion. And one which has no agenda but one of safety. Neit... |

| And then there's the factor that local authorities acknowledge dangerous driving around schools to the point where they won't actively encourage cycling because of the risks. Surely this is completely the wrong attitude for LA's to take?! Again, let's not focus our resources on curing symptoms, but... |

| <lots of reasonable stuff> and asked, in essence, "how do we solve the problem of poor driving" The answer is very simple (although how do do it is less simple) - we have to improve average driver quality. Everying follows from that. If speed selection is a problem, it is a problem of dri... |

| OK. So what do we do outside schools? As I said above, the education issue takes time. And for those it doesn't work on, it will take even longer to sort them out. What do we do in the mean time? It's all fine proposing that, but if it ever did happen it's a long way off isn't it? Do we have to wai... |

| I think it would be benficial and constructive if we try to keep this one away from any cyclist v driver battle. After all, we're all drivers, all pedestrians, and many are cyclists. And, this being a road safety campaign, it's something that we should be talking about. And then there's the factor t... |

| Robin, be careful, you're in danger of portraying yourself as one of those rabid types. This whole discussion on cycling to school started on the dark side. I don't expect you to read the whole 18 pages, which is mostly guff, but it came out of the fact that I have been told by my son's primary scho... |

Aren't they actually prevented from doing so by irrational fear, not helped one bit by the rabid dislike some pro-cycling (or indeed, pro-ANY ... |

| Telling everyone that people should be able to judge their own safe speed doesn't make any difference. They aren't. It's impossible to control any vehicle safely, whether car, bike, boat, or skateboard, without judging what is a safe speed. The dangerous drivers out there need to be dealt with, but... |

Because they're leisure facilities, and should be available to all, as they are beneficial to everyone. You should try some of them |
