They'll be safety cameras when they can measure the safety of a passing object and photograph it. |

I haven't seen it for ages, but I remember it being shown with the pre-feature ads at the cinema. It's certainly been around a while, I did a Bikesafe day with the Met in 2005 and it's on the DVD of bike stuff that came in the goodie bag they gave out. |

Also worth bearing in mind - areas of hatching bordered with broken lines mark the areas where the Evil Nail Fairies come out at night and do their Sprinkling Dance. I'm a biker, trust me on this. |

I saw those a while ago. There only appears to be the one set though, and I thought SPECS had to operate in pairs to workout speed over the distance between cameras. Unless the cameras at the start or end of 'the distance' are better hidden... |

I just went searching for the current rules, as I had a feeling that the ban on any other material appearing on a plate only applied for vehicles from 2001 onward (like the new mandatory font). I'm sure there was nothing illegal about carrying other information on a plate before, so long as the req... |

Read V796 again, Gizmo, and find the place where it states dimensions for the plate rather than what's on it. |

To be pedantic, there aren't actually any regs for the dimensions of a bike plate. All that's specified as far as size goes is that it must be 2 lines ('letterbox' is definitely illegal), size and font of the characters (smaller than car spec), minimum space between them and minimum margin around th... |

Strange that they'll accept my word that my CBR has an aftermarket silencer replacing the rusted-through original, but they won't take my word that it has a Thatcham-approved alarm unless I provide them with a copy of the certificate. Hmmm... |

Yes, being local I use that bit of the A10 all the time. The NSL/40 used to start/stop in the same place both sides, where it still is southbound at Farm Close. There's a new light industrial development half way along on the northbound side (where the map shows Albury Farm) and I suspect they're an... |

It was called 'Perfect Day' and I've got it on a DVD I got free from somewhere - maybe the police BikeSafe day? It finishes as he parks up outside his garage after avoiding all the hazards and a bird overhead craps down his leathers.
Agree about the indicators though... |

I know it's just one still and I haven't seen the video, but if I'd been handed just that pic and asked to interpret it I'd have said he's just pulling in from a risky overtake of whatever the camera is in and the van's gone over to his left to make room. Shows you shouldn't judge by appearances! |

Just copied this from londonbikers.com - follows a discussion a few weeks back concerning the ownership of these cameras (TfL not LSCP?) and their consequent legality. Anyone heard any more on the subject? New "undercover" Speed Cameras which were introduced a few weeks ago on the A12 are ... |

Silly question, but why do they have to pay a fee to release a vehicle which has been used perfectly legally by all concerned and should therefore never have been seized in the first place...? |

Strange one Thursday night coming home from Hertford. About 10:30, joined the A10 at the A414 junction, police Astra was stopped in the left lane at the lights on the roundabout as I came round in the right. Lights changed just as I reached them so I didn’t have to stop, went past him, indicated lef... |
