Good point actually Malcolm, thanks for that. I'm thinking that if police are out with speed detection on a night after such mayhem on the M40, its extremely unfair and will tarnish further their reputation. Sooooo, annoyed with the major inconvenience I had yesterday. Further points from others are...

Hi all, Yet another speed camera scare for me and hoping to get people's opinions about this one. Yesterday (Sun 12 Aug) I got caught up in the M40 closure (northbound). Loads of detours, bumper to bumper, etc… with a screaming 1 month old baby in the back, wanting fed, etc… After 3.5 hours of incon...

Hi everyone. An update, as promised. I didn't get any fines or points courtesy of the postman. Its over 3 weeks now so I am in the clear. I've been lucky with cameras these past months. I was down in High Wycombe and swore blind that I got flashed there too, but nothing through the door. Thanks for...

Hi Toon. Sorry mate but I dont know what ANPR is. Can you explain? Yes, when passed it was a parking police van clearly marked and two tri-pods were on the road next to it, with cameras on top of it. I was home for about an hour and I decided to drive back to look at it again as it was bugging me. ...

Hello Robin, Thanks for reply. It was definitely a red triangle with a right turning corner on the inside of it. Below it, in a white rectangular box with no border on it was written 50 MPH. Nothing else was listed. So, that is not mandatory? You feel it is a recommended speed to take the corner po...

I was driving on M55 today, left Blackpool, and at the end of the M55, after passing the roundabout for Preston, I wanted to go M6 south. The road is in 4 lanes after Preston roundabout (2 left lanes for M6 north, 2 right lanes for M6 south). I took M6 south. As you take them lanes, its stretches f...

Personally I feel that if drivers cannot decide on an appropriate speed to negotiate a corner, without spearing off the road, all by themselves then they shouldn't be allowed on the roads!
Robin, thanks mate. You're a star! I'll sleep a bit easier tonight now. |
