fucking hell... what a load of old tosh. Goodbye to all, you can't say anything on this forum anymore without everyone having to over analyse every aspect of what could have happened what might happen and every subsequent possible outcome. I'm clearly pissed off at being robbed of posessions and jus...

80mph is 14.29% faster than 70mph ergo you will get to your destination 14.29% quicker. I'm not sure about you but I think 14.29% is a fairly significant factor. If I could find my company an additional 14.29% margin I'd be in line for a company lear jet. Today I drove 460 miles.....at 80mph vs 70m...

Otherwise you could have opened the door placed your keys on the drivers seat and went to kiss the mrs goodbye etc and they get lock... |

I like the Safe idea but I think in future I'll not take any documents along with me and when I do eventually need to produce documents to prove insurance/mot/ownership or something I'll tell them I dont have anything because the streets cant be kept safe enough to leave things out of sight in your ...

Had my car broken into last night, right outside my house - mp3 player stolen, 3 atlases (why steal an atlas?!) and, most importantly, my Registration document. So I rang the DVLA (didnt bother with police at this point as am aware not much they can do) who subsequently told me they'd charge me £25 ...

How to drive in a fuel-efficient manner Yes you guessed it, everything else is rushed through then the "stick to the speed limit" message is hammered home, with a degree of repetition. But this line I love: If you are driving on a dual carriageway, doing 80mph will only get you to your de...

If you gave her loads you're going to be a little disappointed! It was whittled down to fit into one sentance. I'll see if the GF has a copy to get a scan for you :) I'm sure it was about distractions being the biggest cause of accidents or something. Pretty sure it referred to SafeSpeed as a road s...

Having flicked through a friends copy of Glamour Magazine (big female lifestyle mag) I was surprise to see a quick snippet from Claire in there about road safety
It's in the Oct 2008 issue |

The only one, in my experience, which makes a very strong point of teaching gamers how to learn braking distances, cornering techniques etc is Gran Turismo. Yes there is a competitive element (otherwise no one would play it... you've got to get people interested somehow) however I'm not suggesting i...

A controversial one this, however I think it holds should be given some serious consideration. Computer Games... I played them through my youth (and to this day). Some of the driving ones are obviously ridiculous (need for speed etc) some of them fantastic. And I'm not saying this as a sole means fo...

Agree with you Anton that it is no less important than being taught Religious Studies or the next to useless games lessons (we went Bowling once a week for 12 weeks for goodness sake!) however I suspect that as it wont apply to anyone 16 or below (as none of them can drive then) they will show as mu...

Agreed Flynn, a load of crap - a badly thought out solution... as per usual rather than really thinking about how to improve something they've gone for a pointless number and from then on will say "done your 500 hours? ok - fine to go" just as "under 30? must be safe" etc. When w...

No I meant proper roundabouts, the ones with an actual island in the middle... as opposed to the silly little bits of paint on the road which don't tend to serve any any more purpose than being a big round white give way to the right sign. Obvo there are mini's that are usful, such as on 3 roads joi...

Would you consider a motor scooter as well? I've been delighted with mine, and it pays its way. VED is 15GBP per year and it gets over 100mpg. But another significant way in which it helps is with ease of parking, which is always free. It would also keep mileage off your Saab and help it keep its v...

I'm assuming you're not driving through the section which is limited to about 40mph most mornings and afternoons and evenings due to incorrectly working VSL? |
