If we could increase the speed of the slowest vehicles, I therefore believe we could reasonably safely increase the speed of the fastest vehicles, too, to correspondingly more than 90mph. Personally I feel "attentive" driving at 90. Not overly confident, but definitely attentive. Anything over 90 s...

Even the overhead text ones are being abused when displaying *Queue Ahead* as so often there isn't. Used effectively they would be useful, but whoever is operating them needs to do a better job of keeping them upto date. Or even just more informative. "Stationary traffic in 800 yards - caution" wou...

i have no doubt the bus company concerned is trying to get more customers to use their service, no doubt their prices will be slashed as well i think not. i think many areas now want commuters to use the bus / trains, ok fair enough trying to ease congestion etc, but why not reduce prices I'm a Bir...

I think there is merit in your suggestion, albeit in a modified form. Those who wished to could take a series of advanced tests over a period of time. Success would be rewarded by reduced insurance premiums (much as happens now with advanced driving tests) but, critically, the certificates could be...

...that's the effect the system has on us as drivers. Great, isn't it... Yeah, I can see what you're getting at. I'm the sort of person that says "if it says I can do it, then I will," regardless of if everyone else is, or isn't. Obviously I'll stay out of a bus lane until I see a sign saying I can...

I've always found the M180 to be completely deserted no matter what time I've been on it. Noticed a rash of camera signs on it when I was up there a few weeks back. Don't know if there are actual cameras or if it's a warning for possible mobile units on bridges? I have actually seen someone pulled ...

Assuming we're stuck with bus lanes, why not just allow cars with 2+ occupants to use them as well? Instant "multi-occupancy" lanes at no extra cost. Never catch on... No, because bus lanes are open during the vast time of the day for people to use them to ease the flow of traffic (like a 7am-10am ...

You can't really prosecute on a 5mph speed limit, and AFAIK speed limits on car parks aren't set by the law, they're set as a guide.
A brisk walk / slow jog is on average 4mph, so yes, you'd be right. |

My mate's an engineer and he regularly has to travel into the congestion zone. His company pay the £5 for him, but they do not cover it when he forgets to pay it and they fine him.
So now he does his best to refuse to go into the congestion zone. |

'lo, My name's Daniel, joined up today after seeing a lot of convincing information about what the .gov.uk are doing is wrong. Originally arrived here by doing a Google Images search for "Daily Mail". Got caught by the Humberside Police for doing 84mph on the desolate M180 towards Barton & Hull....

I liked the idea of an SS sticker, but would prefer something with a bit more of a meaningful message on it, so I whipped up this... http://www.jolajola.myby.co.uk/images/safetycameras.gif I've printed and placed it in my rear windscreen (for the next time I get flashed by a camera, probably) so I t...

Bus lanes are good for this, but only when they're out of service . I actually had a copper pull me over for going in a 7am-10am bus lane at 5pm because I managed to undertake roughly 50 cars that don't read the signs that the council put up at the side of the road. I wasn't speeding (20mph) and I w...

The forums get about 100. Of the 100 forum visitors, about 30% are registered users, and about 15% of the registered users actually vote. I don't know what causes this. Perhaps it's partly due to the forums only having been running for a couple of months. Or perhaps it's because you force your view...
