Very sad news. Paul will be greatly missed. I had the privilege to be at one of his talks, given at a IAM meeting. Many of the younger members were in agreement with him although a few of the old (and not so old) buffers were grumbling into their beer but as soon as they spoke up he had them defeate...

We are currently fighting proposals to rip out one traffic calming scheme and replace it with humps in Warmley South Glos. The damn things are cropping up everywhere thanks to the Lib Dem/Labour anti car Nazis on the council. I am sure it will adversely affect property prices. I for one will never b...

I recently had a look at the ridiculous 'traffic calming' measures inflicted on the good people of Yate in South Gloucestershire by the car hating Nazis on S. Glos. council. These included narrowing two lane dual carriage ways to one lane each way with a cycle lane painted beside the verge. In place...

A similar thing happened to me a few years back. I was entering a housing estate and as I passed a side turning I saw a police car approaching on it. I saw him come out of the turning and he raced up to my back bumper just as I began decending a steep hill. I needed to change down into third gear an...

"Mr Naylor, who will open the PSA?s annual conference this morning, did concede that speed cameras did deter bad driving."

Oh really? How?

North Bristol, Yate by any chance? Take a look at http://www.humps.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk where a valiant fellow is trying to get humps removed. Onother salt-of-the-earth fellow is battling against the imposition of humps in Warmley (not far away) The S. Glos. council want to rip up a perfectly effect...

In October Which? will publish a report on speed cameras. I hope they have requested information from Safe Speed. I know the ABD have made an input.

Whell, what's changed? I have occasionally seen hand held cameras in use on the bridges over the M32 ever since I moved to the Bristol area 8 years ago. On 7th August I had just turned onto the M32 from M4 and saw two cameras in use from the first road bridge, possibly to check for untaxed vehicles ...
