Ha one of us contacted Swindon to see how much useful additional nitty gritty background information they can provide as to the political reality of the situation? Perhaps they can be persuaded to add an exposee comment in the anonymous whistle blowers section of this website...

Dear Sir, I have read in today's news that Swindon Borough council have taken the lead in proposing to cease funding for their local speed camera partnership in favour of a more appropriate and effective road safety policy. If you have not already done so, please take some time to visit http://www.s...

Perhaps a more pertinent question would relate to the percentage split - between those who naively believe in the 'speed kills' mantra due to intellectual impotence, and those who support it in pursuit of a more sinister hidden agenda...

In discussing this subject in an articulate and lively manner - and in being able to apply a sense of humour along the way, you guys have shown the dexterity of thought that a speedophile never could - so let yourselves off the hook, even if you did score into the thirties!!

Clearly, road safety attitudes are split into 2 camps according to personality type. Those of us supporting safespeed are all clearly intelligent, lateral thinkers, instinctively aware of the real-time, real life factors that determine safe driving - and the need to focus one's attention on the cond...

Is the last contributor actually being serious in expressing these views, or is he merely mimicking a stereotypical pro-scamera jobsworth in order to enforce the point of how devoid of credibility such creatures are? If the latter, my congratulations on a job well done!

The question is, what percentage of motorists know enough about the war against scameras to have the confidence to stand up to the speed Gestapo - insisting on their rights under the freedom of information act being honoured before surrendering £60? And how much of a blow could it deal to those verm...

How about if we take a round up of the week's most topical and hard hitting 'anti-scamera news, and insert it into a 'letter of the week' that we could all regularly download off this site and send to our local newspapers - and our MPS, in support for our demands for a judicial review?

It was most gratifying last week to read how Meredydd Hughes, the speed Fuhrer himself lost his licence after being caught doing 90 in a 60 zone. Clearly this reveals how much faith those at the top have in their own system. Unless of course they feel that a different rule applies to them than to le...

There is one strength in public opinion that I think deserves particular consideration. We have seen Dr L's illuminating case in which he has a letter fom the Information Commissioner's office, acknowledging that under the freedom of information act, all citizens have a right to see all evidence aga...

Whatever our intellectual, cynical sides tell us, there's no getting away from the fact that the entertainers, not the academics are the ones that win the hearts of the masses. Remember that Jade Goody's vote is worth the same as Stephen Hawking's - and there are a lot more of the former and a lot l...

Well it seems James May is our strongest candidate - one of the iconic Top gear trio, whilst at the same time being seen as the sensible straight laced one - and he has already voiced clear support for safespeed by name. And would Sir Paul Condon stand by him on national TV? and how many Radio stati...

And just imagine the impact of a scientifically conducted expose on Top Gear to corroborate the findings of Paul's research. They could even hold... |

Perhaps the next person who visits the 'help! I'm being prosecuted' section of this website could be given the option of being a test subject for just such a public interest defence case. How about if we all chip in a couple of quid each to cover their court costs if they lose, thereby giving them t...

I have seem many intelligent, compelling and well researched arguments in favour of scrapping the Orwellian Scameraships and replacing them with a legitimate road safety policy. Without a doubt, most of us would happily pay a ... |
