Claire- I fear ( if the situation in Coventry is repeated over the country) that you may have to return to campaigning about the rise in average speed devices. On the other hand, I decided that the tailgaiting reply was worth a punt and asked our local MP about the local police response . In short, ...

Spotted elsewhere, the latest idea is to use grey vans. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-11924337/Warning-motorists-new-stealth-speed-camera-vans-painted-grey-avoid-detection-trialled.html What next - vans of differing colours, and a rash of stickers on vans , something like "I'...

Sadly, Paul, gone, but never will be forgotten. And from what I'm seeing in the Midlands, round two is starting. This time it's Average speed cameras, with no real deterrant ( i.e. real police prescence). The only other option is us road aware using dashcams to pass back videos. Meanwhile the bully ...

Bit late in the day, but locally we've had a few 20 limits brought in. On FB neighbourhood watch we've had comments from a Sgt on Safer neighbourhoods team . I've asked him about checks on tailgaters pressing drivers to exceed the limit. His reply "buy a rear dsh cam and report to "operati...

After all the problems with the virus, I've recently had a chance to visit my two great great grandaughters in Coventry, where I notice that Coventry have resorted to ANPR on certain roads. Personally I'm not surprises, as one of the ring roads has become more of a race track ,with yofs in high powe...

Latest idea by West mids police is that we( motorist) should install dash cams ( front & rear) and send in photos of offenders to police. I've actually had an on line e-mail from a Sgt in Warks Police to suggest that. This was in responce to an article on speed traps in certain areas, where I as...

Locally as part of a Neighbourhood watch scheme I get reports from our Local teams. One report claimed success on local 20 schemes. I did reply asking for their intent on tailgaiting response in 20 areas. No real response was the answer, but I could fit a tail gate cam and send in photos to "op...

Motorists who speed, use mobiles or choose not to wear a seatbelt face fines and penalty points in a police campaign to promote road safety. The focus of the campaign will be on inappropriate sp...
