I have decided to withdraw from this site as there are in my opinion too many people who feel enlightened when they are not, arrogance, dismissive ignorance and abuse are far from the bed fellows of enlightenment.I may be a reactionary but not an instigator. There is also far more self importance tha...

As there seems to be ever more "sports" in the Olympics, why not motor racing or rallying? Would this be a good reason to spend tons of public money on increasing the skills of the best drivers and raising the awareness of driving dynamics? Before anyone says this is not "sport"...

Britain is doing fantastic in the olympics, better than ever and this surge of success is as a result of more funding, better facilities, quality equipment, top trainers and higher standards of training. Producing some of the best results EVER for Britain. Just imagine what could happen to drivers w...

Hello everyone, My first post, but I was interested in seeing what people though about my situation. II have to commute to work by car, (as train is hour and a half longer), on the M25. Due to petrol prices being too high I admit I do drive at 50-55mph on the motorway to help MPG. In my defence I n...

The point of my observation was not to deliberately have a go at cyclists, its simply observations and from a % point of view is very poor indication of cyclist behavior. ( yes its only one simple study but also backed by my experience of cyclists over many yrs and many many miles) I have no doubt t...

You don't nessasarly need to be able to do or be good at a particular job to be a manager, it is a different skill. It's all about getting men and machines in the right place at the right time and making decisions. A lot of managers will have skills that are transferable between industries that are...

Yes but it would take too much typing for me to explain it.

I understand what you are getting at Herbie, rather than being thick then perhaps lack of awarness, lack of knowledge, laziness and stubborness are more apt. On the training side I was meaning post test as well as the L plate lessons. As much as skill, experience and knowledge come into play to mak...

So by this statement, the traffic directly opposite and the traffic comming from your right is insignificant? Your own speed irrelevant?? There is no traffic on the right. You only enter the MR when there is nobody coming from the right. It's too risky that they won't give way to you....

Mini roundabouts aren't designed to slow you down, they are designed to improve the flow of traffic. (surely?) You might have to slow down on approach but that goes for a lot of things. Rules are just the opinions of the person/people who wrote them. I don't believe the opinion of those people is b...

... Most people do tend to drive over at least part of them (including me!) but they still seem to work just fine, in other words pretty much everyone treats them like a roundabout in terms to who has priority over who, despite driving over parts of them. There are two points which I think have com...

I went to a place today and while I was there had 2 hrs to kill, so I went for a walk in this resort. Its very busy this time of year but I remembered this thread and decided to pay complete attention to cyclists and what I witnessed in my 2 hr walk was as follows. 1. Cyclist on footpath nearly hits...

Ya see there ya go you tell me what you THINK, I tell you what actually happened and has happened on several occasions. I did not say the time trial course had a U-turn in now did I?
