Well, as far as I remember it it was a case of the roadworks cones diverting people into the lane that they needed. The anticipation I don't think would have made any difference. I was aware of the need to change lanes and I was trying to do so. The problem was the selfish so and so who wouldn't let...

Great. So I get caught for speeding while trying my hardest to obey the speed limit, but temporerily get forced to accelerate slightly becuase of a selfish idiot who won't let me into the correct lane. Further down the road after the roadworks someone else starts undertaking and going through gaps i...

Yes, it looked similar to that. Although if my memory serves corrected there wasn't so much of a 'hood' above the front. Although I could be wrong. The odd thing is that there were speed camera lines in the road by the positions of these cameras. But I am led to believe that they used pressure pads ...

The problem is that these seem to be the new digital Monitron cameras that do not have a flash.

I have just been looking around for speed camera types. The cameras I saw on the M5 looked very similar to Monitron Speedcurb cameras. Although the rear design and part that sunshades the front of it looked slightly different. Also I didn't notice any of those embedded lines in the road. I am tearin...

I've just friven through the minefield of speed cameras that is the jourmey from Worcestershire to Cornwall today. I am afraid I may have been caught out yet again (the third time in a row whilst trying extremely hard to keep within the limits!!) However I am not certain of the camera that might hav...

Yes, but my point was that these silly speed limits do infuriate people and push them to make such overtaking manouvres that they might not otherwise make. The point is not that crazy overtaking is ok, but that the speed limits make people lose their rag and become more dangerous as a result.

Why didn't you make the point that the advertisers had tampered with the brakes to give a false idea of stopping distances?

I hope everyone here just saw 30 Minutes on Channel 4 just now. It covered all the ridiculous new laws that the Government are bringing in, such as one guy who was almost jailed for not having an Ajax bottle in a locked cabinet, as well as pointing out the sheer ridiculousness of speed cameras. They...

Here's an idea. TV ads aren't just restricted to products and the Government. As a campaign group Safe Speed are equally entitled to put out a TV advert as the Government spinmeisters. I'm a freelance cameraman and editor so to make a TV ad that lists REAL statistics would be easy. The cost to get t...
