| Or lone plod could stop drunk driver and get a good kicking or worse? I accept having more officers in a car would not always prevent this ( as recent events show ). From a Traffic point of view i feel two Officers would be safer for the police, immediate backup, during a pursuit the driver wouldn't... |

| ts routine now days to have one traffic officer per car, radio talk button is on the gearstick, knowledge of area so instead of 2 officers 1 car covering say 20 square miles you have 2 officers 2 cars covering 40 square miles, which is what you want What we want is more cars with 2 officers, the ac... |

| Always used to see Traffic Cars with two officers in. Around here they all seem to have only one officer ( unless armed response ). So instead of one officer concentrating on driving and one on radio, giving directions, additional pair of eyes at junctions etc, the driver has to do all of this. That... |

When riding my motorbike i find that most young children smile & wave ( especially if i blip the throttle ), they don't seem at all scared.
It is the anti-car/bike "Road Safety" groups that create any fear in children as they grow older. |

| Is this the one where the Police were 1st aware of the car AFTER a cyclist phoned 999 to say he had been knocked off his bike? Reminds me of an episode of "Car Wars" a few years ago on BBC, officers in unmarked car were informed of a stolen car, they headed to the area were the car had been taken fr... |

| Of course I haven't seen the figures but I would be more interested in the number of incidents in which these people were killed. The 17 might have all been in one bus accident (sorry, this is extreme to put the point). Not that extreme - in last few days there have been two crashes in Lincolnshire... |

I too do not necessarily agree with their letter of the law policy, but still feel the benefits to my driving meant the time and effort involved was worthwhile. Would recommend it to any driver, while some hav... |

| I also fear it would lead to a catastrophic decline in driving standards as people took the view that the responsibility for safe driving had largely been taken out of their hands. Agree 100%. The less you ask people to think for themselves, the less they think. Foot down, up to the limiter, they m... |

| But even when you have several cars together, all going along at the limited speed, I don't understand why they would tailgate. They can't go any faster than they're already going, so what would be the point of driving along close to the car in front, I would have thought the natural reaction would... |

| If someone accelerates slowly up to a limited speed, they can be easily caught up by someone accelerating more positively. Especially if the road has plenty of bends. So you can still caught up and tailgated even if both cars are limited to the same speed. The limited speed sould still be 10/20/30+ ... |

| Always aim to keep at or below 30. Won't claim to be 100% successful, but confident i keep it within 1 or 2 mph over. When i started taking an interest in advanced driving about 15 years ago i read many articles, all had one common theme - stick to 30/40, but in NSL use your discretion. As for level... |

| The idea of changing at 3mm is nothing new. I have a copy of the "Porsche Driving Guide" ( can't remember exact title at moment ) by John Lyon of HPC. This was written around 20 years ago, when minimum tread depth on cars was 1mm ( i think ), and he recommends changing at 3mm. It may be the case tha... |

Surely "Wreckless" driving is very safe - it implies the absence of a wreck! |
