Ian H. Can you clarify something for me regarding this incident? Amy seems to be saying that she had to give a statement at the scene of the accident. Is this proper? The Officer who attended the incident I was involved in sat me in his car and asked me to tell him briefly what happened. So I did. ...

Hi Amy. I'm a traffic cop and a forensic collision investigator. The normal police response to an incident such as this would be as follows; Firstly we’d ensure the scene was safe, then we’d check for casualties. If an ambulance is required we’d ensure it was travelling – often they’re already on sc...

Just heard this news. Tragic.

I had the plesure of spending an afternoon with Paul and Claire at my place a couple of years ago. They were a joy to be with, and completely dedicated to the cause.

They will be sorely missed.

Utmost condolences Claire.

Ian

Certain factions in this glorious part of the country seem to want to keep it to themseves. They want to rid the lakes of powered boats, they would charge tolls for entry and use of the roads, and as you say the wardens seem keen to target the flustered tourist rather than the real road obstructors....

My good lady has guided me into christmas almost effortlessly. All I've had to trouble myslef to do is to cycle in for the Times this morning along with some lemongrass puree and parsnips! WTF! Thank goodness for the internet and Eldon Square. :) But work has been hectic! Unfortunately, as seems to ...

Jub Jub If that's the best you can do to discredit the SafeSpeed campaign then it really is time to admit you've lost the debate, I mean that doesn't even rank as pathetic. What can you bring to the table? I mean this seriously what is it about the actual campaign that is wrong, do you disagree tha...

Again, thanks for all the help and advice. I've checked under the carpets and they seem dry. I have removed the wet cloth from the car and that has helped a bit. It may be possible that the pre sale valet has also caused additional problems, also the nature of my journeys, mostly short trips ,doesn'...

Thanks for your replies guys, The car has aircon, as have my previous two, but this one seems to have significantly more of a condensation problem than I've previously experienced even from an older car. I bought it new on September 1st. Here it is! http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f17/TrafficAnswe...

A quick question regarding a problem I'm having with my motor. I recently purchased a VW Touran 2.0 Tdi Sport, and I'm mighty pleased with it. But I've recently experienced a lot of internal condensation on the windows. Obviously with cold mornings this is prone to happen, but I've had so much conde...

1.5 fatalities per year! I imagine someone would say “well if it saves just 1 life…..” but how many lives could have been saved if all that resource (I estimate 2000 SCP staff) had focussed their efforts elsewhere? Even if only simply patrolling the roads? But they are not even doing that! All they...

Whether you're open enough to see this or not I don't really care. Having debates like this is good because it lets us re-examine our own beliefs, and you have helped strengthen mine - so thanks! Agreed! As has been clearly stated the inclusion of all collisions in the stats could only ever serve t...

Do you really believe that 60% of people stopped by the police give false details. This is incredible department of guesswork stuff. I don't believe that for a moment. What this might relate to is that percentage of those whose identity was doubted by the officer and who were brought in for further...

Could have been awaiting a vehicle travelling past which they would eventually tactically intercept (creating sterile areas etc), or simply kitting up to go to a firearms job. Not all AFOs are routinely armed. Many in fact, as we do, spend most of our times on trafpol work, and it would not be appro...

ANPR definitely has some uses, and we have had some decent lock ups on the back of it. It needs to be updated with good quality intel for it to be effective.

I'll reserve judgement on its long term effectiveness.

What worries me I have just read your post, and an image came into my head of some bloke in a suit rubbing his hands thinking about putting a Scam there. Yeah, and we know the bloke's name.... And in the case of the Data analyst, it's a WET suit! :( Comment overheard this week.... "There sho...
