Can you provide proof. or is this another cycling myth. ( I might even suggest an ad hominie attack from the cycling warrior group). Proof of what? I and a lot of other motorists have constantly belated the poor driving standards on our roads. HAVE you and Weepy done likewise on cycling standards. ...

It's a fair point. He WASN'T driving. OK, he was the drivER and HAD BEEN driving, but wasn't at the time of the offence. Even if that one COULD have been argued, what about the case of a 4 door car where a rear seat passenger opens the offside rear door? No reason for the same law not to apply to (...

So far, I haven't seen any "UNBIASED VIEWS" from WEEPY /OTHERS. It is very difficult to remain unbiased when replying to someone as biased as you are, botox. ** But to refer to the original incident. Opening a car door without checking that it is safe to do so is a clear case of Careless ...

I'd like to see figures released for persons injured by cyclists texting whilst cycling, I would imagine that it is of the dame order of magnitude as the number of cyclists injured by texting pedestrians. Amd several oom less than the numbers injured by texting motorists. What does "using a mo...

Just as an aside (sorry for the thread drift) does anyone have any accurate figures for stopping distance in the dry from (say) 20 or 30 MPH for a pushbike? An "average" road one would be nice, but just to get us in the ball park, any pushbike at all, with any kind of brakes. Just curious...

E question to which I cannot get an answer is: why do we single out two wheel road users as being negligent for nit wearing helmets when it is clear that the entire population would be safer if they wore helmets? A friend of mine tripped up, fell down stairs and suffered serious, life changing head ...

I'm sure Ive posted this before.

If anybody should wear helmets, it's people driving cars...
[/quote]

And, considering the number of whip-lash injuries recorded, everyone in a car should wear a neck brace.

With regard to motorcycle helmets, I think it has been conclusively proved to save lives and limit injury. So it follows that the same ought to be true of cycle helmets. With respect ,Tone, that is not correct. Motorcycle helmets and cycle caps are completely different things and extending lessons ...

I don't think that the eminent neuro-surgeon is denying the effectiveness of adequate head protection for cyclists. Rather he thinks that the present polystyrene shell are of little use in any non trivial accident. Those so-called helmets would not meet any industrial standard of helmet and could on...

The guy in the video is less than 6ft behind the lorry, he wouldn't even realise the lorry had started braking until they were shovelling earth on him. When I was a Physics undergraduate I was also a daredevil cyclist who used to tailgate lorries across the Pennines from Manchester to Leeds for a w...

Was the motorcyclist riding in a cycle lane?

Pretty obvious dangerously aggressive riding by the motorcyclist but mitigated by the fact that another cyclist have safely jumped a red light some time later.

I don't think that there is any argument against sufficient head protection being a good thing. What the neuro-surgein is arguing is that the protection offered by the current standard "helmets" is little more than useless. You don't see cycle helmets being worn on work sites. In an indust...

So which is more likely to result in a KSI: a 2 5ton bus tailgating a cyclist or a 1/10 ton cyclist tailgating a lorry? Answers on a postcard please. At least in the second situation the cyclist is in control whereas in the first he is being intimidated.
