I have two motto's: "The more laws you make, the more criminals you make"
and
"Rules are for the guidance of the wise, and the obedience of fools" |

Try this Gooddriversam - pull out of a junction 10 times without looking, or changing lanes 10 times without checking your mirrors, then drive at 21mph down your street 10 times, see what causes the most actual harm, (I'm not condoning any of the behaviour happening on your local roads). safespeed c...

whilst we're on the point of slowing down well before turning off, been experiencing a fashion on motorways of late of people when wishing to exit a m-way, moving into lane 1, (during normal free flowing conditions) slowing right down to 30-40mph then exiting onto the slip road, causing no end of is...

Was on my way to Keighley today on a job when I found myself behind a West Yorkshire Safety Camera Partnership Ford Galaxy (I made a note of the reg. no.), accelerating to 40mph+ through a 30mph limit along Thornton Road towards the A629 for Keighley, then when the limit changed to 40mph, they accel...

We are in dangerous times where we have a new age attitude emerging where as long as you're driving really really slowly you can drive how the hell you like, "oh you don't have to check your mirrors / watch the road, bump into people, because you're driving slowly so you won't hurt anyone"...

Had some very valid points clearly made but ultimately beaten down by government biased, left-wing anti-motorist factions too obsessed by speed speed speed! Ok slap on a blanket 50mph limit, the drunken / drugged up / no license / no ability drivers will still screw it along too fast for the conditi...

absolutely! i echo all comments made on this. I watch out for cars indicating if i'm crossing a junction, I NEVER WALK BEHIND REVERSING CARS, I take more time if I'm crossing the road near a bend. My dad has a saying "you become a road user the moment you step into the road" |

those "traffic womble" cars (as they get reffered to as) are like marshalls at a race track and not the officials, they clear up and assist with accidents and breakdowns, not in policing the roads, they were set up to free up the police from attending minor incidents, so i do find it laugh...

It is a good technique in that its less strain on the engine for the revs to drop down (for the engine to spin down) when re-engaging the clutch and gears as opposed to them having to rise (spinning the engine up), theirs also a similar technique used in motor-racing "heel and toe" where t...

Is it me, or is it a part of this "new age" road safety attitude, that pedestrians can behave and do what the hell they like, and drivers are fully responsible for the outcome? yes they are more vulnerable and extra care need be attributed, but giving one side the "moral high ground&q...
