Actually it doesn't matter too much, I was arguing the case against man-made global warming theory with someone somewhere else. Excess CO2 may be causing havoc in the oceans, but while these are environmental problems, they are not climate change ones. Well, if the alternative theory of CO2 levels r...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4633681.stm Anyone have any bones to pick over this article? Emission cuts 'vital' for oceans Marine species are under threat from rising levels of acidity in the oceans, says the UK's Royal Society. Unless carbon dioxide emissions are cut, there could be irrevers...

I live in Norfolk, which at present doesn't seem to bad although I have noticed limits creeping down here and there, most of which were totally unnecessary of course. Suffolk is an absolute nightmare though, I drive on the A143 on my way to Cambridge most Tuesdays and the limits are ridiculously low...

LONDON (Reuters) - Scientists, including from the United States and China, threw down the gauntlet to world leaders on Tuesday saying mankind was the major source of global warming and urging action, one month ahead of a G8 summit. As leaders of the Group of Eight industrial nations prepare to meet ...

Good points, but I feel that a much better example would have been copyright theft, i.e. how many people out there copy/download music illegally, copy dvds, record programmes of the telly etc etc. If the copyright laws were stringently upheld, even if you only had say, just 1 copied cd, I suspect mo...

Hmm, last night came across another cop car seemingly over the limit. Wouldn't have a problem if the authorities weren't making such a big show out of being a few mph over the limits. The worst thing this time was that they didn't even give a signal when turning left onto a housing estate, lucky I w...

He was not being hypocritical, you admit to exceeding speed limit ( especially in a 30 limt ) and you were not pulled over :D It is a serious point though, even more so with Camera "safety" vans ( whose sole aim is to catch people speeding ). But was police car a Traffic Car or Non-Traffic? In my e...

I think my speedo is reasonably accurate, given the speedo cable was replaced not long after I bought the car having snapped the old one removing the dashboard to replace some bulbs. Prior to that there was some wobble in the needle so it was certainly less accurate then. We have a few radar-operate...

Another utterly pointless speed limit reduction has occurred right outside my village, and is another example of why council tax represents poor value for money. A stretch of road joining Pulham St Mary and Pulham Market in Norfolk has had its limit cut from 60 to 40. There is a school at the bottom...

Whilst driving to work yesterday afternoon, I noticed a police car at a junction up ahead. I didn't know if he was nicking motorists so I slowed down to the 30 limit and he pulled out ahead of me. Followed a few car lengths behind on the road leading up to my workplace and he was doing 40mph. Had I ...

Nearly got cleaned up on the A14 a while back near the A6 turn. I was overtaking a truck (I was within the speed limit!) waited for a BMW to go blasting by. Just as I pulled out behind the BMW the guy must have seen a the camera beyond the truck and slammed the brakes on. It was a close call. Emerg...

I was driving home from Cambridge last night on said road, heading towards Bury St. Edmunds.. noticed there was a new speed camera under covers ready to enforce a relatively straight section of triple-carriageway near the Cambs-Suffolk border. I was baffled as to the point of it - this will be a pri...
