I was driving down a dual carridgeway(a120 in Essex) today, clear visibility and decent conditions when I noticed a police camera on a motorcycle on my side. I was in the fast lane doing anywhere between 78 and 82 mph. Can anyone remind me what speed you generally get fined/courses at on 70 mph dual...

Everyone around me was still doing 70+ but I had slowed down to about ...

Quick question. Yesterday I was driving through Chelmsford and as I was approaching a set of traffic lights controleld by a camera they turned amber as I was fairly close to them ( I was travelling at about 25 MPH). It was too close to stop safely so I went through, I believe I crossed the line whil...

Can someone just clear something up for me about this please. ( I have now changed it). I was driving round the m25 last night at about 2am clockwise from the m3 to the m11, but between the m3 and m1 I was a bit confused about some signage ( maybe partly due to having hardly any sleep) After leaving the m3 I assumed it was a national limit as there were no signs to say otherwise, but f...

I was watching a program on tv the other day , one of those 'cops with cameras' shows, when it featured on it a man who had not informed the DVLA of change of address. He then must have either commited some kind of illegality and the DVLA tried to send him a letter. After he hadnt replied for a long...

Ok thanks for the help. So just to recap for my utter understanding. I will probably scrap the car within the next couple of weeks. Once it is scrapped I send the recipt to the DVLA so then they know it wont need to be taxed in 2011. I then inform the insurance and then I take it I'll have to buy th...

The car was damaged already, it has a leak in the automatic gearbox, meaning I had to kepe topping it up with fluid every week = 8 quid, not to mention the extra petrol it was costing as it wouldnt get into the right gears because of this. Radiator also buckled and broke. Its an old astra 1997 model...

So where do I have to have it to get it sorned?

If it is scrapped I take it you just dont renew tax altogether?

Who do you have to let know?

Hi there. First off, let me excplain I am quite ignorant as to all the ins and outs of what to do in this circumstance so please bear with me if I sound stupid with this question. I have had my car, a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 merit for 2 and a half years now. Its MOT was July31st 2010, Its Tax was June 31...
