Some groups even use their own volunteers to go out & do opinion polls, with no standards required, friends will do.
These do not even need the questions or set answers to be slanted to their suit the opinion they want.
I know because one group asked me to help do one.

On Traffic Cops the officer concerned can clearly be seen driving at about 98mph with one hand on the steering wheel whilst he adjusts the on board camera with the other whilst flicking his attention between screen, car being filmed & road ahead.

That said, a highly trained police officer still probably keeping better eye on hazards in this situation than most drivers - assuming he is highly trained of course. Fact remains all these incidents were at well above the speed limit & all are driving with out due care & attention. So much...

I'm sitting watching in total disbelief. Traffic cop PC Matthew Bort driving at 90mph whilst taking his eyes off the road & his hand off the steering wheel to operate the speed detector equipment. PC Bort driving at an average of 98 mph whilst taking his eyes off the road to look at a monitor wh...

If speedo accuracy is so important then speedos should be calibrated each year during the MOT. The problem with this is, even doing this can make 2 - 3 mph difference. Have your speedo calibrated on worn tyres & then change them & it's reading 2 - 3 mph lower than the actual reading. HGV's ...

As a sometime PSV driver the logic used of making bus lanes as wide as buses & then allowing cyclists to use them has always escaped me. Very often cyclists travel slower than the traffic that the bus lane is helping the bus avoid & thus by a mixture of design & allowed user actually mak...

I drive an HGV & I do not drive at people I gently pull to a stop & then move as close to the idiot overtaking as possible, but if people want to drive at me what can I do ?, a motorcyclist was trapped under a 4X4 at this junction 2 weeks ago after a prat in a van drove at her & she took...

It's a common problem near where I live, we have a set of traffic lights & Cars & HGV's try to push long distances down the offside lane to get into the right hand filter lane. Me I hold my line & if it means I have to stop & they have to reverse then so be it, I won't put my wheels ...

Yep, sorry I knew D1 was Non PCV mini bus, I meant C1 & that would have been wrong also. one advantage with the DVLA's definition of Car & trailer for B+E is that the larger the vehicle & trailer combination the easier it is to reverse, I use to do some work for the local youth & com...

I think you will find that B+E is limited to 4.25 tons, as that is what the driving licence allows 3.5 tons of vehicle plus 750kg of trailer. anything beyond that comes under catagory D1.

But these are hardly new rules. Tacho / Driving hours law is E.C. Regs 3820/85 & E.C. Regs 3821/85 & they are enabled under Uk law by the Transport Act 1968. These rules & a booklet that tells you in very simple terms how it applies to you is available from the VOSA either to down load o...

FWIW, You are incorrect on most counts. WRT trailers, any vehicle can legally tow what the manufacturer says it can. However, for vehicles with MAM 3.5 tonnes and under, this will not be over 3.5 tonnes trailer weight or 7 tonnes GTW. The MAM of the vehicle doesn't include any trailer -- that's inc...

I see a lot of 3.5 ton vans pulling trailers, any trailer on a 3.5 ton van pushes the Maximum Authorised Mass, (Gross Weight) over 3.5 tons, & few of them, as the law requires has a tacho fitted & few, if any of the drivers abide by the relevant driving / working hours law for the driver of ...
