Sorry Camera operator for dragging you into this. I was only using you as an example of a person who does not toe the party line on Safespeed but has never been censored and who should not be censored. I can only personally hope that you have a revelation on "the road to Damascas" but till...

PeterE has made a good call in this instance especially given the fact that one forum poster has now condemned the "censorship" whilst another has claimed he has not gone far enough. Moderating the Safespeed forums is always done sensitively and for good reasons. Safespeed has never delete...

I would not CHOOSE to be rammed but would any driver reasonably expect to be rammed?

This is a sad case and a prime example of speed cameras criminalising people. I cannot approve of the actions taken by this couple to avoid the ticket but I do understand why they did it.

Yet another example of the side effects of speed cameras :(

I have left this posting with its link in order to not censor an opposing view. I can only comment that the linked site claims to be powered by wind and that term is really appropriate. The proposed Congestion Charge (Con Charge) is most definitely a con that will cost the motorists and council tax ...

I guess I SHOULD have removed this post as spam (and this was my first inclination) but I cannot see how they can make anything off of the hosting.

First of all I wish to express my condolences to Mrs Williams and her family at the loss of Peter Williams. However we have to consider the verdict of the jury and the contents of the note they sent the judge in the light of overall police operations. It may well be true that the road where the acci...

The BBC report on the trial is here:- http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7654430.stm I find it interesting that McCormick's car was seen on a number of cameras being driven in a dangerous manner but there was no apparent attempt to deploy police to stop him. Whilst there can be no doubt that the res...

Nothing new here at all, especially if you look at this topic ( http://www.safespeed.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2678 ) Interesting thing is that the DFT and their followers have been continuing to spout the same discredited (by their own commissioned research) rubbish since the report was publishe...

Sounds very much like ANPR to me. IIRC Speed cameras cannot be used from within a closed van

Hmm - of course he was right when he said "if that guy on the A38 hadn't been speeding that accident wouldn't have happened." except that it should have been re-said as "if that guy on the A38 hadn't been THERE that accident wouldn't have happened." :) Mind you by the same token ...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/7539432.stm Another fatal accident where "high speeds" are mentioned early in the article. You have to read through most of the article to reach the real reasons for the accident:- Police said he was being held on suspicion of dangerous drivin...

I have been through this section. Even with the requirements for the roadworks this road, in both directions, is wider than a 60 mph two-way road. The camera is in a position where it can be a nice earner for the Pratnership and there were no highways workers about since I believe they only work nig...
