Direct Democracy = the people having a say in all areas affecting their own lives. That means everyone gets a vote on all areas of national and local interest. Significantly - it also provides a framework for group of people to get together and suggest policy proposals, which will then go to a vote.

I think people are actually pretty reasonable and if given the right information will tend to make commonsense decisions.
