Late reply, but I just noticed this. In the US, points are put on licenses only in California, Arizona and Illinois. There, the scamera needs to photograph the driver. Everywhere else, the driver isn't photographed so there are no points. The owner get a "civil" ticket that can't be contes...

The only conspiracy to pervert the course of justice that I see is the chilling effect the police have put on your legal system. A defendant will no longer trust going to his solicitor for honest legal advice because he'll be afraid the police will be listening in or grab the solicitor's notebook in...

The video clip is finally working, but it's only 25 seconds worth. Is there any way to get the whole tape? Great stuff. This is not the first look into the minds of camera operators. Across the pond here in 2001, about 400 people jointly fought their red light camera citations in San Diego. A former...

I can answer this puzzler with a "confidential" document from a red light camera company that explains exactly why they put cameras where they did. See here. You'll find main criteria were: "high volume", "downhill" and "Amber (yellow) phase less than 4 seconds.&qu...

Red light cameras don't work for the same reason speed cameras don't. The correct thing to do when you see the yellow/amber light is to stop if it is safe to do so. The camera crowd is intent on eliminating that last phrase with a device that knows no discretion. If someone is just a few cm from you...

A protest on foot could have everyone bring a camera staked out in front of the partnership building with their own camera so that any time one of the "safety" camera officials leave the office, his picture is taken. All the flashing would make for good tv. Have a stash of disposable cameras handy f...

As an outsider looking in, why not make the next protest in front of the "safety" camera partnership office or some other place where the officials gather? Two hundred cars or people is a significant number -- inconvenience the officials and disrupt their work and the public will be quite happy to s...
