I think my advanced examiner put it very well regarding exceeding the speed limit while overtaking; he said

"Don't worry if you exceed the speed limit while conducting an overtake - I wont be looking at my speedometer during the manoeuvre - and neither should you!"

Yes I can vouch for that (having a rant here). Down here in Herts roads often seem to be closed for "safety improvements" and then re-open - having been "made safer" at cost to the taxpayer - with a lower speed limit :x It's often a national down to 40 for no apparent reason. This then adds another ...

If I remember the sample group were MAG members - who in my experience are regular daily bikers. The example Russ talks about is probably one of the 'leisure bikers' who wouldn't see "safe speed" in terms of hazard perception / risk assessment for the circumstances, but just wants to show off as muc...

I also sent this Qnnaire web reference through to the MRS monthly mag editorial team as a howler. They sometimes name and shame those offering opinion masquerading as research. :P (ps I shot from the hip earlier - the letter I am sending to the IAM has had the couple of errors i spotted corrected) B

Thanks for highlighting this survey. As both a member of the IAM and Market Research Society I have penned a letter to the Chief Executive of the IAM. I attach the text below. Please could readers keep the contents of this letter confidential to the forum as the letter is not even in the postbox yet...

How about adding a sheet for "what Scameras don't pick up" This information sheet can set out the case & support with the increasingly glum stats on rising aggression, driving while drunk/uninsured/unlicensed, etc, etc, etc. (criticism can also include an extrapolation of what the 'real' (...

Here are a few notes to start the ball rolling. * Overall effects of HGV speed limiters. * Understanding excessive speed crashes. How many are caused or contributed to by normal responsible motorists exceeding a speed limit? * Driver performance around speed cameras. Is hazard recognition affected?...

This may be too late: I do know of a barrister friend who was in a similar situation a few years ago - he considered the two tickets to be a "continuing offence" and eventually managed to have them treated as such. hope this helps.

Just a personal note here; NLP and other strategies can be used to change behaviour. My own personal view is that we need to look at the cause of certain types of behaviour. Bad and especially inconsiderate/aggressive driving comes from a basic lack of respect for ones self and others. Cure this and...
