| I've been away a long time - my interests have widened and camera hypothecation has settled down. The level of them is too high and there are veiled threats of an increase rear their heads every do often, but on the whole I devote my "public service" attention to different causes these day... |

WTF?? This indeed should be safer for the (extremely small) percent who break do... |

| <snip> again I'd say find your county councillor ( e mail address usually on county web site) and pass on your concerns .And between now and May is a good time to raise the issue,and possibly a letter to a local paper. | Go through your insurance, they should be able to claim off the council for you. If not claim thought the small claims court, it will only cost you about £30 if you lose. Yup - appreciate I can do all of this. HOWEVER.. Insurers will not bother the council, but just log one strike off my no claims ... |

On Channel 4 news this evening (around 7:46 for 4 minutes if you have "+1") there was the shocking revelation that some cameras have not actually saved accidents. Well I never.
Was a good piece - at least until the BRAKE lady degraded it. |

I am learning lots here.
My (and June's) Hondas have what is acronysed as VFD. There is a press-button to disconnect - and I only did it once. I thought the engine was missing - but I realised rapidly that it was backing off keeping me straight! |

| Assuming a conventional manual gearbox, engine braking is "digital" - watch it. Better to keep it in a high gear and use the brake pedal gently than the gears. |

| You can still get pedal kick-back with ESC - it still uses the ABS pump to lock / unlock whatever wheel is appropriate to what it's trying to achieve. Unless they have got very sophisticated of late, the ESC applies brake forces to wheels that are losing drive (on the driven axis) and to an imperce... |

| I must admit that the worst thing that I find about driving on snow, is that ABS brakes seem to cause more problems than they solve on snow, I've often thought about removing the fuse at this time of year. The problem with that is that, unlike on non ABS cars, these days they don't fit a brake bala... |
