If it is end to end, I can see it now, drive like crazy for 13 miles stop at a pub for a nice pint and foot down for the next 13 miles to record a low average and a warm glow.

Informed speeding?

Cameras are a menace!

I'm sure the arrows and sign do a marvellous job at highlighting the accidents, but the way my car was bouncing about on the slabs would make my brakes less effective and increase my chances of an accident in the first place. I despair at the waste of my money on Britains roads, i'm sure if the road...

i had the mis fortune to drive through this dreaded stretch of Motorway last week for the first time in a year or so, i was amazed £millions spent on gantry's, huge signs, gallons of paint marking out the overhead speed traps every couple of hundred yard and thousands of discarded cones. After what ...

Another rant from me, i live in South Wales, one of those small towns where inappropiate speed cams (the ones on the wide road sections with no pedestrians) ruin every journey. I noticed today as i cut through a local housing estate to avoid seeing the mobile speed cam on the main road that i seem t...

Sorry if this has been posted before, found on ukgatsos.com and proof that South Wales speed police are ******, else why wouldn't they contact all the innocent motorists who believe they are motoring criminals. It's a crime against the people! M4 M4 Newport 50 Jct 24 - . Faulty speed trap claims inn...

I'm really not sure, i don't know who is responsible for what i see as the chaos that is the British road system, i might as well blame the inventor of the speed camera rather than the abusers of it, for all the good it would do, just felt like spreading my driving misery on this forum. Pointless i ...

I had the misfortune to use my car again today, the usual story of travelling along the M4 from roadworks to roadworks, looking out for what speed limit each one was, checking my speed and every time i thought i may have drifted over 70 etc etc when i witnessed road rage in front of me, a driver was...

Don't worry about pissing me off "i have lost my sense of persepective over this whole issue". That's whats caused me to seek out this forum to vent my problem. I know its not right to blame the police entirely for the situation but i do, it seems that 99% of the time i see a policeman it's in a mon...

I'm afraid i'm a lost cause, one of my kids came home from school the other day and told me how the police had come into talk about anti social behavoiur. On reflection i am impressed and that sort of thing is a good use of the polices time, but my first reaction was to ask how many he booked for ru...

I nearly crashed my car today as i travelled along the M4 into South Wales today. In living memory the M4 at junction 24 has had barrier repairs, its been at least 4 years, there has occasionally been the odd workman walking about and plently of cones, a couple of years ago some fake camera signs we...

I do have a problem with the police and i blame it all on feeling persecuted when i drive. I honestly believe i am a safe sensible driver, who has only been caught speeding when i have relaxed for a few minutes in speed/camera zones that defy logic in there placement and new speed limit imposed. Thi...

On Sunday i had the to drive from S Wales to Brighton and back a journey of almost 350 miles. According to my automated policing calculator i should have seen a maximum of two police patrol cars, but i saw 5!! I thought i would share my disturbing story with the world, Part 1 M4 west, the infamous 4...

I was driving home from work down the glorious Mxx (road name protected for fear of busy body) and as usual i pulled off the overcrowded Mx and before me was a couple of miles of zero traffic, the weather was warm and dry, no wind and fog free and i gently put my foot down. I won't say the speed i g...

I think the limit should be whatever is safe for the roadworkers, but consistant from county to county along the same roads, also i'd like a bit of technology ie when people are actually working set the limit to 40, 50, 60 eg whatevers safest. But when people arn't working set the limit to whats saf...

Fair point as long as there are plenty of signs, just that i don't understand why some are 40 and some are 50 when there doesn't appear to be any reason. I would just like to know what makes the difference when they set the limit, i'm guessing there must be some degree of qualification for the limit...

It drives me mad! there is no logic to any of the new limits, there must be a rule. I wonder what makes one set of roadworks on a motorway 40 and another 50, i'm sure it has more to do with density of installable cameras than safety. Drivers haven't got a hope of guessing correctly so we end up with...

I desperatly hope the move to more cameras less police stops, i as i've said in another post am a law abiding citizen who is starting to think all coppers are out to get me because i dare to drive on the roads i pay for. My view on cameras, is dig them all up and replant them outside every school, a...

Maybe there should be a new camera that can scan for dilated pupils, they could call it a safety camera!
