I liked the floats and lorries idea. We need to make a bigger impact. More people too. The last one was great considering the short timescale for planning, but if we are to get noticed next time we need to be bigger and better.

Set up url forwarding to point from your domain to safespeed. 30 second job, one line of html. Back of the net! If you've got some web space attached to the domain, cut and paste the following code and save it as 'index.htm' in the top level/www folder on your web server. If you've bought the domain...

they are 7.5 Tonners which do not require an HGV licence Well spotted! YouCantDrive hasn't been updated since I put it up several years ago and I'm aware of the errors on the page, I ripped out links to a forum that used to be on there that just got trolled to death. The image next to the HGV secti...

It is easy to turn up bang on time.... Calculate the time required to get there at 80 mph on a motorway and then set off ONE MINUTE earlier and travel at 55 mph. We're told that any journey only takes a minute longer if you go slower, so put the theory to the test.

I have to say they were 100% in agreement and seemed really pleased that people were prepared to stand up and do something to bring the whole issue of cameras into the public domain This is consistent with what I noticed. I was helping hand out a few flyers and sticky tape as cars parked up. One ca...

I saw me in my 200SX in L1 approaching a flyover (can't remember if it was BBC or ITV news). I'm happy with that :) They were doing a lot of interviews at Membury including Flintstone and myself. I doubt they'll use many of them as other news has buried the protest a little this evening it would app...

Hi I'm Darren, a 26 yr old Software Developer from rural Cambridgeshire. I'm a huge car enthusiast and own three cars (2 sporty cars and one mundane family car). I enjoy track days and airfield days but in my 9 year driving career I've also averaged 20-30,000 miles a year due to my love of cars and ...

We've seen what these do to lorries limited to 56 mph and the 0.0001 mph speed differential overtaking. Well, imagine the same thing at 70mph....carnage.

Well, I'm back home now after a very pleasant day out at the protest. It was great to meet so many other likeminded people from all different age groups and walks of life. I think this helps demonstrate to the rest of the public (the doubters, in particular) that it is not a small sub-section of the...

I'll be coming from near Peterborough. Down the A1 then M25 to the M4 most probably, although the M25 to M4 is usually plagued with queues (ironic really). My missus has stolen my Mondeo for the weekend to go get the tracking and wheel balancing done so I'm no longer bringing that and will be in my ...

Saw this posted in the MX-5 Owners Club today. I'm a member of the club and I'd say quite a few members support the M4 Protest however someone took it upon themselves to start an anti M4 protest thread today Well I have just seen the website about prostesting against speed cameras and the proposed d...

Whilst not a fan of speed cameras, especially in their current mode of operation, I'm still not a supporter of those who vandalise speed cameras. It is still criminal damage. Besides, by taking the camera out using fire or cutting the thing to pieces you're only drawing attention to the fact that it...

I agree that whilst often unnecessary during the daylight hours, we can make a special exception for the protest. I'm going to be displaying dipped beam headlights and a couple of protest logos during my participation and encourage others to do the same. As DeltaF says, it'll help distinguish betwee...

About a year ago I overtook an almost new M5 on the M4 near Swindon. It was being driven by a pensioner with his wife in the passenger seat. He was in L2 at 40-45 mph with nothing in L1 to overtake. At the time I thought it was a waste of a nice car and was being driven inconsiderably when L1 would ...

You don't expect the police to give you accurate accident stats do you? If you've seen the film Good Morning Vietnam where there were two news censors crossing out news that wasn't "official" and then handing it to Robin Williams to read out on air - well that is what you'll get back from them. At b...

Can we not stagger the start to include other start points between the two already designated? I guess doing that would make it more difficult to co-ordinate with regard to dishing out leaflets and instructions and also when talking to the media. I'm also trying to decide whether to leave my car wit...

I'm a little concerned that this protest becoming too popular with 'car enthusiasts' could cause another problem. I've been informed that a few 'cruise' sites are intending popping along. Whilst I'm a little biased against 'boy racers' due to my running of the barryboys site, I still think that a fe...
