Im 17 so as you can imagine, i dont get much in the post, however today i got one of those slips saying that i have to go to the post office to pick something up as i wasnt there in the morning to sign for it....thing is, im not expecting anything from anyone, would it be possible that this is something from the police saying that ive done something wrong? Ive had a NIP through in the post before but never had to sign for it...im being very paranoid you see, another 3 points and i have to re-take my test, something i cant afford!!!

All the best

Tom

Heh, the SCPs never bother sending anything registered any more - far too much hassle and cost - it also removes the element of doubt as to whether or not it arrived, so they wouldn't want that either.

Probability of it being a NIP = low.

I don't suppose you'll thank me RustyFuknut for offering unasked for advice, but if you have so many points on your licence at age 17 then something is wrong somewhere. At 17 you have little experience of hidden road hazards let alone visible and obvious ones. One easy way to prevent an expensive visit to the local magistraits court and a long walk home is to obey the law until that experience is gained - roughly about 10 years of driving. My clean licence is 41 old and I regularly exceed the speed limit in safe areas.
This is good advice if you'll take it and sincerely meant.

I have 3 points on my liscence for one speeding fine, 59 in a 40 limit on a dual carriageway, caught by the old bill hiding behind some bushes.

In the past year i have covered 35k miles both in england and abroad, i AM NOT an amateur rider, i have a advanced motorcycling cetificate and have also taken free training with the police riders as im alsways trying to improve my riding both on and off road. I am more aware of hazards than your average 40 year old driver. Most drivers who have driven for 10 years have just had 1 years experience 10 times over, noone really learns more, they just drive for longer.

If you want to lear hazard perception go over to Hanoi in vietnam and try riding there, Its scary as hell, no order whatsoever, if you have an accident, whoever shouts the loudest wins the argument, so if your unconscious you end up paying for their damage so you have to stay alert!!

Sorry if i sound like a bit of a tit and beleive me, your time and advice is much apreciated, i just dont like being stuck into the boy racer young rider catagory...

After finding out that i can get a year ban and a revoked liscence if i get another 3 points ive been going everywhere at the speed limit, and i am a dangerous rider at slow speeds, i openly admit that my mind wanders and im not paying half as much attention as when i moving faster, ive tried a few things to keep my mind alert like taking off the fly sheild on the bike so i get more wind-blast, little things like that seem to be working but overall i just need to learn to stay focused even when going very slow..

Right....Im going on a bit now hehe.

All the best and happy driving

Tom
