Very sorry to hear of the death in a road accident of Andrew Gormanly aka Dratsabatsi who was a member of this forum:

I'm sure all our thoughts will be with his family.

Andy Gormanly sadly passed away on Sat 10th Jan 09 aged 54.

The family are monitoring these forums.
Contact me if you wish to contact the family directly.

He was driving along the A17 near Newark and suddenly veered off the road and hit a tree. It took the services an hour to free him from his cab (lorry driver). He was conscious and talking, unable to recall what had happened. All his ribs were broken and he needed several operations to his right leg & thigh. He was suffering from bronchial pneumonia. An inquest is underway.

He leaves his son Philip and daughter Rebekah and ex-wife Chandra.
He has 1 brother and 2 sisters as well as a recently passed away brother too.

He loved driving, and was a member of several driving organisations. He was also ex-army.

He always came across as a gentleman, with great incite, and excellent when debating points, one of the good guys.
He will be missed, may he rest in peace.
My thoughts are with you all.

If anyone can offer advice with Estate matters, please do so, as there are limited funds.

Either of these organisations might be able to offer help.

SSAFA in particular were a great help to me.

Very sad, I have a lot of respect for all HGV drivers and the job they do.
Condolences are of course offered.

So sorry to add this too late - as I have only just found it in my very busy in box, plus my travel has made even access difficult and timely, so I sincerely apologise for this lateness.
