When you look at the damage the Tories did in the 80's and 90's ( for instance, manufacturing industry, the NHS and the rail service were probably all irrepar ... irreperabl ... er, badly damaged), and now Tony Blair's mob (well, what can you say ... ?).

The result of too much power. So I've got this to say about voting, national or local.
I believe it's wrong not to vote , but I think it would be great if large numbers of people turned their backs on the major parties and voted for a wide range of fringe parties.

Result :- hung parliaments, divided councils .... but no more politicians' "Grand Schemes".

Blakey - hung parliaments - hung MPs even better, but from what and where - divided councils - great -make them work together, and might just prevent "Grand schemes", except on the subject they all agree on - their fees.

Why is it that the first item agreed on every new parliament is the INCREASE in what MPs get??

Well it looks like Charles Clarke has been asked to 'spend more time with his family'.

From some of the results in, it looks like Labour might be very hapy that only half the seats in some council areas were being contested. From local papers areas that traditionally were labour strongholds suddenly have recounts .
