I think he could make a big impact as an independent candidate and perhaps shame the Tories into being less lettuce-like (limp and green).

You know, I think you're right although the few Londoners I know would laugh at the idea. But if he stood and actually campaigned on what he thinks I honestly think Red Ken would have a fair shock, but yes the Tories even more so.

I am almost tempted to sell up and move to "The Smoke" just for the possibility of casting my vote! :D

Clarkson would bring back something to politics that has been dead for years and is sorely missed!

A Choice!

Maybe safe speed could sell some "clarkson for mayor" Tee -Shirts
& laptop bags
nice little jackets to put over the speed cameras, ticket machines and "de-congestion spray"

right to roam and a picture of the congestion zones and a car

That'd be great - we have the market, I'm sure.

I also have a chap who would manage orders and shipping. But there are two missing ingredients:

- management time (needn't be much, but it would be nice to think we could keep the ball rolling on such opportunities)

- Finance for stock

Anyone want to help out with either of those 'shortages'?

He wouldn't do it and he's actually not exaggerating in his article.

I'd do the same thing, have a laugh for two weeks, revel in the publicity and then be utterly bored with it all after that.

He likes the comfort of sniping from the sidelines, than sitting in the big chair taking the full brunt.
