Yeah, I gotta agree. I just thought it may have had a place where it's just a quickie. Quickies are nice sometimes.

You will be branded a threat to society by going over a speed limit where it is safe to do so, and suffer the consequences of your actions in a way criminals do not, more so than someone who is a real threat to our society.

Just post Tone. Some threads become volumes and some are never even responded to - it is just the way it goes, there is no 'right' or 'wrong', 'big' or 'small' topic thread.

On the Insurance the only ways I know are:
a) alternate the insurances each year ...
b) share in someone else's car and be insured for that ... but you have to watch the who is the main insurer and make sure they know about it - or it can go wrong on any claim.
c) find others to all be part owner of a 'fancy car' you all like but cannot afford individually.... once you have 'loads of money' ... but you never know til you ask !
d) I have lost my bike insurance as I never renewed it - although it is still 'working' to still resolve the paint and non-replaced panel issues ... can it be swapped to a car ?


d) we should start a campaign for 'people driver or rider insurance' not for the vehicle but for the person, after all you can never ride or drive more than one at once - and just pay a 'little' extra for the 2nd or 3rd vehicles for theft ...

My understanding is that most insurance companies will recognise an NCD up to two years old. I have twice been in this position during periods when I have had company cars. A few used to allow up to three years, not sure if they do now. A case where consulting a broker would be a good idea.

Over 3 years, and you are dependent on the introductory discounts botach mentions, which can be quite generous.

Indeed. When my wife got here own car again after several years as a named driver on my policy, she was able to get a discount equal to the NCD for the years she had been driving my car.
