I've already made a feeble attempt at dealing with them. Unfortunately, I'm tied up with a lot of "college work" at the moment, which precludes me from taking on any tasks that require strict follow-through, so to speak. I'm sure that a person who is dogged enough could
eventually wear the DVLA down, but it needs a big effort. British government departments treat the data as if it belongs to them, not us - the cheek of it, eh?
PS: IMHO, this is not an IT/IS/Systems issue. It's a political issue about the relationship between the individual and the state. The State and it's citizens are having a hard time moving into the brave new world of instant information. All those "data protection" screwups, the mishandled FOI requests, the National ID scandal, the NHS computer, and even (believe it or not) remote speed detection all run along the same fault line - how do we balance off rights of the individual against the economics of "societal control"?
Hm... maybe that's the big question, eh?
