"If it’s not one thing, it’s your mother.” (Freud)

I used to go on country walks with my sister and friends but we were put off some of the routes because it went past a farm where there were several dogs kept behind a fence, to ward off any burglars I guess.
There’s one instance I remember very well, where they were barking and clawing at the fence like demented mad things. It was so loud we could hardly talk to each other and we all thought the same thing “if ever they get out were screwed!”
It was such a frightening experience and ruined what should have been a nice end to the day TBH. I needed a drink afterwards just to help calm my nerves; we all did. Now maybe their bark was worse than their bite, but if you saw just how crazy these raging things were pushing up against what looked to us as quite a weak and fragile fence, you really wouldn’t want to find out the hard way. Again, I’m not blaming the dogs but at the end of the day it is still nonetheless terrifying for us.
The only other time I had felt so scared in a situation like that was where we think the farmer had put, or deliberately used, aggressive cows in a field. They came closer and closer and my knees were knocking like castanets I can tell you.
Then, suddenly, the one came running towards us and I nearly $h1t myself! If you have ever seen about one ton of muscle charging towards you and felt the sound of its hoofs thudding on the ground like an earthquake you will know exactly what I mean.
I think many people do have a ‘love me love my dog’ thing without always considering whether others like or are intimidated by them. It’s a bit like me having a pet tarantula or snake and talking it around everywhere expecting everyone else to love it like I do. The same goes for, usually, women who have a baby screaming its head off but "oh isn't she a little sweetie and what a good pair of lungs". Er, get it away from me please!!!
I like nice well behaved dogs but I’m not sure they constitute the majority.
