I was P2 on that flight :D :D - sneaky bastard, don't they know their video cameras can play havoc with VOR aerials and disrupt the dissipation flux between the aircraft and the runway ;) (it's actually as likely to cause interference as using a mobile in a petrol station will blow it to smithereens)

One of the very rare occasions I've gone off 06L at EGCC - classic!

I spent most of the day in the Holiday Inn just off the A4 before coming back from EGLL. It's a wonderful life.

I remember the old days of 27 mhz AM CB radio! We were responsible for bring down several airliners!!
As for the number of vital hospital operations where the patient died because somebody keyed the mike a mile away....

Some did however have "twig toppers" - a twist of wire (coil) and a low wattage bulb, fastened to the end of the anntenna which lit up when you keyed the mike, and warned everyone with in eyeball distance what a prat you were! It was known for some vehicle installations to cause indicator bulbs to glow in a similar fashion

Ah, CB radio. I wasn't around back then, but I've read about what went on!

Proof that banning something doesn't make it go away.

Manchester to Gatwick ? Hardly seems worth taking off

What altitude do you make that hop at then? In fact, that must be quite uneconomical in an Airbus surely?

Doesn't that depend on how many people were on board?
It cannot be any worse than the subsidised train which passes my house with only three people on board for much of the time.

And rail infrastructure is incredibly costly to maintain!
