Not sure when our Great Leader is due to email us on the Toll Tax petition?

I've not heard anything yet. Maybe the Downing Street email system has crashed sending out 1.5m emails

I registered my vote and I didn't receive the email to ratify it. It would appear that they are cooking the books again.

I received a response today to the ID cards petition, which closed on 15 February, i.e. last Thursday.

As the travel tax one closes tomorrow, the response will probably be sent out on Thursday or Friday of this week..

I'll be checking my emails carefully Thurs/Friday then!

In a strange sort of way I'm actually looking forward to it, to see what he has to say :o

Is it modern government in action, the PM emailing people or does it diminish the office of PM? Somehow I can't imagine Mrs Thatcher addressing the common man/women 8-)

No, but I've received two emails from this site pointing me towards the campaign.

I joined this site in anticpation that I would NOT receive unsolicited circulations.

I trust it will not happen in future.

and - when the promised email arrives - I'll bet it will be automated and from an address that will not accept replies..........they're not about to risk over 1.5 million emails pointing out how and why their assumptions are in error

What worries me is why Cameron is keeping so quiet about it.

Because he is Blair Mk 2 and agrees with road pricing. You have been warned.

No - but a reply to local MP pointing out local elections in May might.
Labour get the local organisations to reccommend MP- a big hole at local level might create a fright -only takes a few MPs to vote no and democracy steps in and kicks out their bill, till Cameroon gets in and starts it again.

I have sharpened my pencil, well laptop, not to mention my tongue and am in the process of composing a suitable response to our Fearless Leader's BS which will be posted to either my MP or one of those tits in the department of transport

Preparing a speech and having it broadcast over email isn't any different from doing it for TV as far as he is concerned. As already pointed out, this ain't gonna be a two-way thing!

I guess the next step will be for us to involve our local MPs.

I got my reply from the PM this morning with regard to road pricing. Nothing in it that will make me shift my point of view. I won't bother posting it here because I'm sure you'll be getting yours soon.

Even if I agreed that road pricing was the way to go, I still would not trust this government to have the competence to deploy such a gargantuan, computer based enterprise. Other government inspired IT projects have been spectacular flops which have run far over budget, and I don't see why this one would be any different.

I got a call this morning from a lady friend who had pulled over to the side of the road because the traffic queue was even worse than normal. I told her not to worry, and that the government's road pricing scheme would be the solution to her problems. She was not impressed! :rotfl:

Got mine as well -and there's an article in the telegraph
(sorry mods lost shortcut to shorten links)

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jh ... ads221.xml

More or less what was said about votes on the EU constitution(so true to form there) ----we'll either vote untill we get the result we want (or ignore you).

Who's going to be brave enough to bet on Brown winning an election??

Just checked on the Lib "Dims" site. Ming "the Clueless" is 100% supporting road charging.

After Gizmo's post - took a look at the Tories site
And this article -
http://www.conservatives.com/tile.do?de ... _id=135148

Titled "Blair rebuffs 1.8m who signed road petition"

And (although it smacks of conspiracy theory ),
almost some sense in the thoughts -

"Meanwhile, Mr Grayling has written to the Cabinet Secretary Sir Gus O'Donnell asking what rules will be applied to the Government and the Labour Party's use of the email database that is being built up as a result
of the use of e-petitions on the Downing Street website."

Noticed that this article is from Telegraph.

And thoughts of pots and kettles in this one
"Sign the petition to scrap ID cards"

http://www.conservatives.com/tile.do?de ... _id=134894
